Neither the Keep nor it's location, the Dinu pass, exist.

The Novel reveals at the beginning that it looks like a castle but is too small so it was classified as a keep. Later, the professor in the novel says that it is not a keep; it is unique; the professor says it was called the keep probably for lack of a better name. That is all that I see which is in the book. Probably F. Paul Wilson thought the title: The Keep was better than the title: The Unique Structure which had No Name.
