So this has been annoying me for a while. In this book Daemon tells Katy that the DOD "assimilates" Luxen and basically pays for them and provides them with housing (pg 95 in non-bind up version). He also mentions something about how they used to have to check in with the DOD in the first book as well. So why are they so afraid of the DOD finding them out and getting involved? Don't they already know about them?
