Paige asked:

Did anyone else think that the book is WAY better than the movies? I just started the Harry Potter books and I read the first book then watched the movie to see if it was anything like the book or not and I was watching and I thought to myself "Jeez what were these people thinking!"

Jazmin Miro I definitely understand what you mean, and I agree the books easily top the movies. But, you also have to remember that these are LONG books, and it would've been incredibly difficult to add in every detail while staying in a 3-hour time slot. To add, the movies would've gone very slow, and it wouldn't have a flowy feel. Overall, I think the movies were very good and it is always enjoyable to be able to see your favorite book played on a screen, but if you really want to enjoy the movies and series overall, READ THE BOOKS FIRST! You can't enjoy the series without them!
Ali Bank The books are so much more better than the movies. The movies are good but they lack a lot of detail. All my friends and I agree the movies are good, though they're they are missing a lot of details, Whenever I re-watch the Harry Potter movies, I'm always thinking (or shouting) that they forgot that, they didn't do that, they don't have the right color, or something else.
Rebecca YES! I read the book after watching the movies. They missed out on so many things. Maybe not the most important things, but small details that gives everything perspective and sence (e.g the Dursleys driving and collecting Harry at the trainstation and that Harry wasn't really supposed to go to the zoo)
Emiyah I'm currently reading the books for the first time after not really liking Harry Potter for years. I thought the books must be better and I convinced myself to read them. And here I am, rushing through them because I love them!
It's fun to watch the movies back and point out what's missing or what actually happened :D (Looking at you, Philosophers Stone- fight with Quirrell..)
Rae Raja i get what u mean. the movies r good, but they eliminate so much of the books. id say nah tho, because the movies r so well planned out and its super accurate to the books. its also fun, to me, reading the books and then watching a movie in my bed-- i mean, dont u??
Luna Every book is always better than the movies. ALWAYS.
(But, the Harry Potter movies were VERY GOOD.)
Jenny Taylor No. This was a rare instance for me of feeling like the movies were done just as well (if not better) than the books. The events left out of the movies made complete sense to me; If every detail were included, the movies would have felt choppy and slow. Admittedly, I watched the movies before reading the books and felt let down by all the hype about the books. I really expected to be wowed.
Lauren’s Travels I feel like that's usually the case with most movies adapted from books. However this is one of my favorite Harry Potter movies personally. I really like how it is drastically darker than the first two films and the director gets a great sense of the story. The introductions of more magical creatures is also a real treat.
