Hi Mary, Thanks for the question.
The idea was more of an extension to my studies. After working in a solar energy company in my university in India, I understood that there is a lack of awareness about solar energy in India. Hence, to meet and interact with people at a grassroot level, I planned this journey on a solar electric bicycle. Bicycle was chosen as the medium since I wanted to do this awareness drive in an eco-friendly manner. Me and 3 of my friends came together and planned the journey that we called "The SunPedal Ride" . I would really appreciate if you could give it a read and review the ebook :) We are fund raising to get solar power to a village school in Rajasthan via an NGO - Hockey Village India - via the ebook downloads. :)
