A refreshing take on the well-worn crime/detective genre.
I especially loved the healthy smattering of knowledge surrounding the main storyline. You get a little bit of law, business, art and more. This is especially enjoyable to those of us that are knowledge-junkies.
It was a pleasurable read, we get to follow the personal and professional life of Detective Warwick and his first exposure to his choice of field and the way he concurs it and comes out on top. We expect no less from our leading man.
For the crime lovers, Archer has us follow two high scale crimes with Det. Warwick being a key denominator in both.
I personally adore his sister, who we see more and more throughout the book. Both their relationships and those with their father is lovely to see as well.
A must-read for those who love crime/detective stories and for those looking for a reason to love such genres.

The storyline of this romance/chick-flick was good but some jarring and coarse words took away form the mood of the whole story which was a little disappointing. The side characters were well thought out and had nice little arcs which added to the overriding story and intensified it. The motives of the characters and their backstories were well-covered and suffice to time and thought was given to them so as to add to the relationship and drama rather than detract from it.
The main Male character, Liam, a brooding handsome kind who hates anything remotely to do with love and marriage ends up a Best Man at Marigold’s best friend’s wedding. Recovering from a cheating husband, brutal heartbreak and shying away from risks to save herself from getting hurt, Marigold makes a drunken mistake in Vegas with the alluring Liam. Not realising that this will change the path their lives take. Join the two famously headstrong main characters in their little journey of stupid stubbornness. The two youngest definitely highlight their idiocy, but you’ll surely enjoy it!
In the book, Liam comes out as a little coarse with his language which diminishes the mood and the Romance that is brewing between himself and Mari, which was a let down.

Another one of Austen's books that I loved. Not my absolute favourite (that goes to Emma) but definitely up there. It contains some of her best quotes and a profound humour that has you cracking up.
This book is Austen's satire, Mansfield Park definitely gives you a glimpse into her mind but this gives you a good idea about the sort of sassy, well-informed, headstrong young lady Jane Austen was.Â
I loved the friendship that was happening with Isabella and wanted to hope for the best but alas how must one expect 100% happiness for the heroine. Especially in a JA novel!
The hero, our beloved Mr Henry Tilney, is a force to be reckoned with from his first sentence, I wanted to see more of him and more of the banter that felt oh-so natural between him and our heroine.Â
I felt, sadly, that some bits were a little too flourished and wordy making some scenes go on for a long time. General Tilney was definitely a huge bore going on and on about materialistic things and trying oh-so hard to appear benevolent and humble. Poor Catherine was so confused by him it was hilarious. The arc with her brother started well but ended quite abruptly, I would have liked to see that ended a little more neatly.
The one thing that hurt me the most was no dialogue right at the end. Austen's dialogue about love, marriage and togetherness was something I was looking forward to but it was mainly a narrative the closed the novel, that may be to people's liking but it certainly was not to mine!
A great humourous read! Would definitely recommend for Austen lovers and everyone else!

This story packs a punch reaching it's climax and then a shocking ending which leaves you in awe. Although it had all the good bits of a thriller, there was an element of something missing purely due to how short the story was.
In my opinion there should have been more structure and more development of the plot because it fell a little short for my liking.
Otherwise a good read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great twist in the end. Made me chuckle and reread the last page...more

A clean, coming of age romance novel. It had the typical ingredients of a young adult romance novel- the nerdy girl, the jock older guy with a shady past with girls and his Playboy best friend.Â
The plot is the usual boy meets girl, girl falls in love with boy, the love is thwarted, girl rebounds and girl and boy end up together.
Copeland's portrayal of a kindling romance is very natural, it highlights the real issues that people face- due to lack of communication and transparency. I feel although the over-arching plot is bog-standard, she really does put a fresh spin on it. I liked reading about their experiences and how "coincidences" presented themselves that her avoidance strategy really fell to pieces. It was quite hilarious. There were times I was compelled to slap Amanda across the face and knock (bad pun, good ref ...more
