The main characters have depth; I cared what happened to them. They make for another great Foster romance. The plot works though pieces are a bit far-fetched...but I can tolerate that in a romance novel. However the whole "Hell" character, her plotline, doesn't work for me. I feel as if she's only there to provide an acceptable vessel for an S & M subplot. Murray is well enough written that I already understand how sick and twisted he is without the scenes with Hell. Now, obviously I don't mind some "hot" in a romance novel or I wouldn't be reading Foster ; ) but the scenes with Murray and Helene just come across as gratuitous. They read like bad erotica and I expect better from Foster. It's a shame because they pull the book from a five star read to a three and a half.

This is rom-com in print, though with a title like "Goodnight Tweetheart" would you expect anything else? I almost wish I hadn't already read it, just so I could read it by the pool this summer.
