His motives are a little confusing but this was defintely entertaining. I'm wondering how this witch has been here this whole time and no one knew about her but I'm glad Murtagh was able to do something about it, although it is definitely not over yet. I need book five of the main series!! Its been too many years....more
i really didn't like how the issues of the characters were portrayed. everything fokay uhh.. i didn't really like this book tbh.
it just wasn't for me.
i really didn't like how the issues of the characters were portrayed. everything felt really underdeveloped and superficial and i just didn't really like it.
i couldn't figure out what the purpose of it was.
the characters felt flat and i didn't really connect with any of them. the plot was stupid in my opinion, it just felt pointless.
i don't give negative reviews often but this one didn't really sit right with me, idk.
i didn't like how kate's father was just the assumed bad guy and they never gave him a real chance to explain himself. it felt really unfair and i hate when books make it really clear who's like the "good guys" and the "bad guys." this was just too black and white for me.
the romance was okay but it was super predictable and kind of insta-lovey, so meh.
honestly the whole thing felt really basic and cliché and i was struggling to find anything interesting about it.
my favorite character was ben because i feel like he was a way better choice for a bf for kate than michael was but whatever, i'm not kate or the author so i guess i don't get to choose.
This was exactly what I needed to get me out of my reading slump. I finished this in literally one sitting.
Applause for the author please, ~~5 STARS~~

Allow me to share one of my favorite quotes.
"Live or die. I used to think it was so simple—a choice, really. Live authentically or die pretending. I thought once I chose to live, I'd finally start my life. What I didn't know is that it's not a choice you make just once; it's a choice you have to keep on making. Because life doesn't wait until you're perfect, or better, or out of pain, for you to be alive. You have to choose it every minute of every day."
Yeah. Absorb that. This book was excellent. And very underrated.
This is a story about first love and loss and tragedy and finding your true self and it's just absolutely beautifully written. I won't forget this one for some time. It was literally just what I needed right now and the message it promotes is something I think everyone needs to hear in their lives.
Oh yeah, and also part of why I originally grabbed this is because of the gorgeous cover and that I noticed the author has the same first name as me, so there's that too, haha.
Anyway, go ahead and pick this one up and give it a read, I promise you won't regret it!

Mainly I think I loved Daisy more than anyone else, she was just hilarious and really awesome. Also I have to admit Davis was cute too, I just wish Aza would appreciate that too. But I know she had a lot of other things going on, so I don't really blame her....more

And Ocean was kind of cute too. I also like how it mentioned things like Ramadan too, and I can understand it because my grandfather is an Egyptian Muslim, so I know I bit about things like that, and this helped me learn a bit more. Overall, it was nicely written and cute, just not a favorite....more
