rating: ★★★★ minor spoilers ahead! another engaging and entertaining book from kerri maniscalco. anything in this series/world i will read and this book exceeded my expectations! the romance to plot balance in this book was perfect and i loved every moment. everything about this book was so addicting and bingeable and one afternoon i just sat reading this for hours and i had the absolute best time! i'm so surprised that this book wasn't particularly well received! i slightly lowered my expectations due to this but i did not share their sentiments as i was in no way disappointed! the twisted fairy tale aspect was a surprising but pleasant feature! these steamy, standalone fantasy romance books from kerri maniscalco scratch an itch in my brain every time! ˚₊‧꒰ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ THE WORLD another prince of sin means another court to explore and learn about! i really love this universe that kerri maniscalco has created for us and all of the details she provides for each court means there's always new things to learn and explore and it makes the reading experience more enjoyable and interesting! this book takes place solely in gluttony's court which is different compared to throne of the fallen but i really enjoyed spending so much time in one court and seeing how different the dynamic is with it taking on a more regency era vibe and setting! her worldbuilding is incredible and she aces it every time! ˚₊‧꒰ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ THE PLOT house gluttony has discovered the dragons in the north are growing restless; a secret that could be devastating for the kingdom, and adrianna (the one reporter who the prince can't stand with their hatred spanning a decade) is the only one who knows something’s off and wants answers. gluttony aka axton (the self-proclaimed rake of rakes) needs to distract this nightmare of a woman from revealing the truth to the kingdom before he can stop what's happening. this book had so many exciting events happening which included our main characters meeting disguised at a masquerade club of sin, a tournament for women put forward from each circle to compete for prince gluttony's hand in marriage, classic fighting as we come to expect, dragons (an absolutely wonderful addition as i seriously do not read enough books with dragons so i was pleasantly surprised to see them featured), banter between our princes of sin, and a thrillingly tense romance! i really enjoyed the plot of this book and how it was a bit less action packed than throne of the fallen but you still feel prince gluttony's sense of urgency at needing to get to the bottom of the mystery with the restless dragons in the north. i thought the plot twist was so good and i really loved the ending, it made me feel emotional and left me very satisfied as i felt everything wrapped up nicely! ˚₊‧꒰ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ THE CHARACTERS another kerri maniscalco book means more new, interesting, and exciting characters to be introduced to as well as many returning faces! any cameos of characters had me screaming as i adore all their appearances and it's always such a joy to have new characters in this world. ADRIANNA SAINT LUCENT is another strong female main character from kerri maniscalco. she was smart, opinionated, steadfast in her beliefs and feelings. her dedication to her family and her career was very heart warming; she's a very driven character who's determined to protect her family and her heart and i really admired that about her! PRINCE GLUTTONY - GABRIEL AXTON is another captivatingly charming and sinful prince. i liked the way his sin was focused on indulgence of any kind and that really blended into his personality with him being such a passionate character. his declarations had me swooning and i loved his character! ˚₊‧꒰ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ THE ROMANCE adrianna and gluttony/gabriel were such a captivating couple and i loved their romance and story. their banter had me giggling and kicking my feet and seeing them pining and lusting after each other was addicting to read about! it was so exciting understanding their perspectives on each after hearing about their hatred and the tension and seeing a few scenes of them together in the other books! i loved the enemies-to-lovers dynamic between them as it's one of my favourite tropes and this was done so well! the hidden identity portion of the story had me kicking my feet in the air and screaming with how often and fondly they thought of each other and you're just waiting for them to finally realise who it is they've been pining after! ˚₊‧꒰ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ FINAL THOUGHTS stay scandalous, sweet sinners! ˚₊‧꒰ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
