~ ROSE - rose has really grown on me and i have really enjoyed her character development and seeing her mature. she's a very sweet and soft but she's also strong and i really admire how determined she is to have everyone be united and be free. she so deeply cares about her people and her country and it's wonderful to see.
~ WREN - i absolutely love wren and her pov and i have since the first book. she's a very strong, stubborn and cunning character and i just love reading about her. her pov was my favourite again like it was in the first book but she is just so intriguing and i really loved her arc.
~ THE TWINS - they have such a wonderful sister bond and i really love to read about them together. they seem to bring out the best in each other and i find that very heart-warming. what happens in the next book is seriously going to test how much they trust and care about each other and i'm really interested to see how it's going to go. i just find them so endearing and lovely to read about and i love when they team up together. they are similar yet different and i really like that.
~ SIDE CHARACTERS - so many wonderful side characters that just like the first book that really add to the story and are just so fun. friendship and family is important in this book and i love how that reflects on all the characters.

~ are you kidding. the romances in this book very nearly killed me off.
~ i was not expecting a new love interest for darling wren and least of all a love triangle but i absolutely ate it up! the tension was through the roof and everything was just perfect i had some serious trouble and conflicting feelings about who i want her to end up with. the romance for wren made her pov even more exciting and honestly this new love interest feels a lot deeper and more meaningful then her relationship with tor i think!
~ rose and shen were wonderful in this book. they faced hardships and things didn't always go to plan and we see whether their relationship can withstand it all but they did and they are a very sweet couple and i am constantly rooting for them. i also really liked how shen has become part of the main cast now and he's really important in the world and the plot as this new plot twist is revealed and it changes his story and it was really interesting and quite shocking but it really added to the plot and i loved it!

~ there is constant action and things happening and i was never bored. i was constantly enthralled with this book. there are so many new twists and reveals that just make everything more intense and serious and the stakes were really quite high in certain scenes in this book!
~ the worldbuilding is wonderful and i feel like i'm there all the time as i can visualise everything so easily. the storytelling is so rich and it just reminds me of why i love fantasy book so much!

~ i am so excited for the next book it's unbelievable. i need it like a drug. i enjoyed this book so much and i just can't wait for all the things that are going to happen in the next one! i just love this series so much! :) i really hope all these characters get a happy ending and that everything works out but who knows! i feel like the next book is going to be intense so not everything may go well but i'm literally dying to find out!!!
