This book grabbed me from chapter one and held on so tight. The emotional rollercoaster that was this book. It was phenomenal and it kept you needing more. Putting this book down to do something else was next to impossible! Michaela Jean Taylor, I am in awe of you.
I really can’t tell you anything about this book but if you’re on the fence, just read chapter one. Just do it. Then make your decision.
Amazing amazing amazing I’m obsessed. Please be prepared to be sick of me because I am going to love this book forever and annoy everyone till they read it.

Not only did I love West, but Skylar was an amazing FMC and her character development was phenomenal. I found myself crying with her when she was dealing with some of her internal battles and anxieties. I found myself wanting to crawl through the pages to hug her. And the fact that she found a man who was willing to be patient with her and love her the way she needed to be? Sobbing. I am a mess.
You fall in love with Skylar as she learns to fall in love with herself.
The relationship Skylar developed with West’s kids was one for the ages. Emmy was one of the cutest kids ever and I wanted to give Oliver the biggest hug and all my support.
I loved this book. Simple as that.
But also the spice??? I was sweating. SWEAT. ING. BYE. I don’t know how Elsie just SAT THERE and wrote this. Did she do it with a straight face??? Inquiring minds need to know.

My heart throbs uncomfortably. I’ve known West for what feels like a blink of an eye and a lifetime all at once. People write songs about this feeling.

I found this book on audible and I fell in love from chapter 1. A NYC girl who heads home after years of being separated from her dad and family??? I’m hooked.
I absolutely adored the relationships in this book, not just the romantic one. I am in love with this town, the people, and all of the little quirks.
I will say that the ending wrapped up quicker than I thought it would. I’m not mad about it though! I was waiting to see more of her and her dad works things through and we didn’t get much of that. But she does have a lot of sweet moments with him through the book.
The banter in this book is also SO GREAT! I loved their ease once they started being together though and the ending had me in tears.
You’ll absolutely love this book if you love enemies to lovers small town ranch life city girl meets small town

This is officially my favorite Catherine Cowles book. It’s my top book of 2024 so far and it’s made it into my top 10 reads shelf on ŷ. I am so fully in love with this book. I’m in love with Lawson, I’m in love with Hallie, I’m in love with the way that she handles his (their) kids. It was beautifully written and I don’t think I’ll ever love a book more.
Lawson is the last of the siblings and he’s a single dad to three kids. Two of the 3 are little hellions, but the oldest is the one who’s clearly dealing with internal things but presents like any 16 year old would - by acting out. He’s struggling to remain present in day to day activities, keep the house moving and grooving, and be the chief of police successfully. So incoming Hallie.. the gorgeous nanny who he once saved 5 years ago. Her “blue.
Their relationship was beautiful. It is a slow burn in the best possible way where you watch their romance unfold before they even get together. Lawson is incredibly patient with her and he doesn’t really let what would be red alerts for most people stop him with her. I think it’s easy to describe them. Soulmates. They were always meant to end up together.
Hallie’s individual relationship with each other kids was amazing to read. I think it’s heartbreaking as a kid without a mom, and to see her step into the nanny role but somehow be exactly the “mom each of them needed had me crying. Literally. I was crying like a baby!!
I cannot recommend this series enough, but this book specifically. I have loved every single one, but Lawson and Hallie have won me over.
You’ll love this book if you love Single dad x nanny Age gap (13 years) Protective MMC Close proximity Small town Romantic suspense Slow burn

I honestly did not think I'd like getting Zayne's book if I'm being completely honest. I wasn't a fan of him in the Dark Elements, and if I'm being 100% honest I don't even think I love him now, but you know who I do love?? Trinity. She makes this story.

And I would reread this book over and over if I didn't have other books to read because I adore these tropes.
I will forever love when the singe parent starts to fall for another person and they step in as a parent. In the easiest way possible... when they just fit with their kid so easily. It's such a heartwarming book to read and it will always heal a little piece of me in the process.
Also... this book is in WINE COUNTRY? Yup. It's like small town vibes but on a winery and I am in LOVE with the landscape that is set up.
This book has it all... a grumpy single dad, banter with the nanny, the FMC has a great relationship with her sister but they're also hilarious together. Medaling family, a mystery that's connecting each book... I love it all and I can't wait for book 2.

It’s officially, y’all. Someone bumped Theo & Winter out of first place & our Golden Retrievers are on top. Beau & Bailey are officially my #1 and no matter what you say, you cannot change my mind.
Beau & Bailey are so great together and I adored everything they did. I think Bailey is exactly what Beau needed, but Bailey needed someone by her side to support such a scary and big decision. I was worried through the whole book that Bailey wouldn’t follow through, but when she did, I was cheering her on the entire time. ...more
