I wasn’t in the mood for what the book was giving, but I’m glad I circled back. The plot twist was super exciting and unexpected. And I love a good revenge story, which is why I found myself rooting for “The Snow Killer. Although I loved the way the book ended, I was slightly confused about that very last twist....more
Although the book was slow paced it was highly suspenseful. This would’ve been a solid 4 star book if the twist was more climactic. Don’t get me wrongAlthough the book was slow paced it was highly suspenseful. This would’ve been a solid 4 star book if the twist was more climactic. Don’t get me wrong it was juicy and jarring! But I still needed a little more during the build up and reveal. Nonetheless, I was never bored while reading and I absolutely loved the examination of the beautiful and ugly parts of love and life. 3.5/3.75 stars! ...more

Longer review> This is a slow burn story about grief, secrets and the choices made in the midst of tragedy. It’s a story about doing the wrong things for all the right reasons. I like that the book explored the different ways in which we experience grief. The plot twist was predictable, but I enjoyed watching the siblings investigate the secret that destroyed their family all those years ago.

My first ever Stephen King and it won’t be the last. He’s a great but long-winded storyteller. Thankfully, the book wasn’t nearly as scary as I thought it would be. It was more disturbing than anything. Beware of the heavy dialogue around Covid-19, Trump, BLM and vaccines. I’ve never read such a political fiction book in my life.
I’m not gonna lie, Professor Rodney and his wife’s racial remarks had me wanting to square up with them and side- eyeing Mr. King. And don’t even get me started on how disgusting their “little hobby was. My favorite scene was the revenge beyond the grave moment. I quite literally laughed-out-loud and shouted, “let’s gooo Holly! Despite the subject matter being disturbing, I found the facts about the human body to be rather interesting. ...more

The FMC was so ditzy and dumb. She overlooked every red flag there was. Which was both annoying and funny to read about. However, I really enjoyed the male POV. I mean…usually psychopaths are interesting to read about lol.
Even though the story toggles between high school and present day, the plot felt very juvenile.
I realized I really enjoy books that don’t gaslight the reader or leave us in the dark. It was nice to know the guy she thought was so perfect was everything but that. It gave the book more tension and humor which really kept me engaged. I would recommend this book for readers looking for something crazy or silly to read. However, I wouldn’t recommend the audiobook. The male narrator was slightly annoying and very exaggerative....more

I just remember devouring the first 12 chapters then I drifted off and got lost lol. However, I do remember laughing and loving some parts. I guess it didn’t hold my attention the way I would’ve hoped throughout the entire book. I really think the problem was the medium I chose to consume the book. However, I know I won’t give it another try....more
