To be honest, I’ve never heard of the book before, and I wasn’t quite interested in this genre, but a few days ago my brother bought it for himself, and of course, as a curious bookworm, I felt the urgency to read it first just to prove that I can read books like this too. I feel like this book finds you at the right time, and when you need the message more, that's when you will pick it up and read it because you feel that it is 'what you need.' At first, it felt odd, and I needed a few days to grasp the meaning of what the author was attempting to convey, and that’s something you should always do when reading. Take some moments to reflect on what you read and how it makes you feel. I had to re-read pages because I just felt that what was written was beyond my knowledge to understand, but after continuing to read, I realized more of what the author was working to clarify, and as a Christian, it opened my eyes to see right through the story of Santiago and the journey of his to meet his Personal Legend. It’s a thing not everyone can accomplish; that’s why not all people will fully grasp the profound depth of this book, but as I said, it will find you when you know you’ll be ready to read it. One of my favorite quote that isn't widely mentioned:
“You don't even have to understand the desert: all you have to do is contemplate a simple grain of sand, and you will see in it all the marvels of creation.
I personally see the desert in this book as the world itself, and the desert is the best comparison, as it describes vividly how it can feel to walk uncertainly towards unknown places, and Coelho said, “A grain of sand is a moment of creation, so all you have to do is think deeply about everything that was created on this earth and take a moment to visualize every moment and action you take, and you’ll see the astonishing work the Creator built. You'll see the beauty in life.
there are several quotes with significant meanings that I could go over, but I believe my perspective and method of thinking are distinct, so it would be best to read it and figure it out for yourself. this book was well worth the time, and I will most likely read it again in the future ...more

This novel is among the greatest YA thrillers I've ever read. Fast-paced, intriguing, and suspenseful. I felt like I was watching a movie and had no idea what to anticipate from each chapter. Even though I foresaw the plot twist, I wasn't expecting the book's ending, which was surprising. I read the book in two days, and one of the reasons I gave it such a high rating is that I finally encountered a novel that allowed me to immerse myself in the narrative and characters. I devoured each page and never checked how many pages I had left since it was INSANELY GREAT. You couldn't possibly grow weary with it because every chapter leaves you wanting more.
Right after I finished, I noticed it was her debut novel, which is CRACKED for a first thriller. It was well made, and I read some of the reviews bragging it’s too juvenile or the writing wasn’t its best, but let’s not forget it’s a YA, and it’s supposed to be so. Most of the characters were teenagers, and that’s exactly how we talk nowadays too, which shows exactly how realistic the book is (IMO). To be honest, I’d be more concerned if the teenagers didn’t act the way they did. (Loved Max) I liked the simplicity of it combined with the storyline and the way of writing and presenting the book as easily as possible for people to understand.
Also, the first page of the book and the manner in which the author attracted the readers with an exciting opening piqued my interest and made me want to read more. I was never bored, and I loved the notion of presenting two teens' lives: a girl who can't remember who she is and a boy who is looking for his missing girlfriend.
THE END, I hoped it had turned out the way I imagined it. I wasn't expecting it (view spoiler)[ and thought it would be Lola (hide spoiler)], but not all thrillers finish the way you want them to, which is what makes this genre so fun and intriguing. I would have liked to read Wayne's point of view at some point in the book and get inside his mind, but overall it was a good read for young adult thrillers, and I'll definitely suggest it to friends, classmates, or anybody interested in this type of fiction.
I didn't expect to enjoy reading thrillers, but I've become fond of them, and I can't wait to read the second novel Lally released and leave a review on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. IDEK why this book is so underrated?? pls read it...more
