The analysis of the thoughts and actions of the party is very deep and interesting. Even though I am not interested in politics, I enjoyed this book a lot, mainly because of self-analysis of the main character. After the first few sentences I thought about "The Trial" but "Darkenss at Noon" is nothing like Kafka's masterpiece. I highly recommend it....more

It showed an dystopian future not fully condemning it. The modern "civilised" society with preconditioned individuals, no family attachments is compared to the "savage" society, where religion and high art is still present. It is not clear why the former would be better. The book starts with the description of the modern world and how people are created, it seemed very wrong. When a reader has some kind of opinion about the new world, they are exposed to the reserve, where people live according to old, traditional values. The more and more we learn about both worlds, the more uncertainty there is, which world is worse. No point of view is imposed on the reader. ...more
