So this little book is just a bunch of observations/quotes the author came up with. Some are common knowledge like “if you can’t find something, clean up.� And some just didn’t make any sense “The bird, the bee, and the bat all fly, but they use different kinds of wings.� What kind of advice is that! I felt like she just wanted a reason to share stories of her life. In one chapter she called herself an Oprah Kid which is a term I’m pretty sure she made up for kids who came home to an empty house because both parents were at work so the kid watched Oprah. Girl, we are the same age and as far as I know, not once has anyone referred to our generation as Oprah kids. And I don’t believe for one second that you’ve seen every episode of Oprah. Really, the only advice that stuck with me was the chapter What Must You Let Go Of? Who or what are you keeping in your life that is preventing you from being happy or having the life you want.
