Jumping right back into the world of Castamar felt like I never left. I absolutely adored “We’d be fools not to savor what we’ve found while we can."
Jumping right back into the world of Castamar felt like I never left. I absolutely adored the first book in the series (TMATM) and was so happy to see everyone back right where we left off. The writing flowed so smoothly introducing Bronwyn and Malik. The author, Megan, is the best at writing fairytale retellings and making them that much more enjoyable as an adult by adding mature situations that keep you interested and invested in the journey of the characters. The chapter endings always left me wanting more with shocking twists and turns. I was so happy with the ending making this duology a set to reach for again if Im craving a high stakes HEA.

ThisGoing through all stages of grief is painful and different for everyone. But would you have someone take away that pain if it was offered to you? This book had me question that but this is what makes us human. You can't feel the best feelings without the worst of them. Having a grief nurse is only available to the upper class. But does it make that part of society special ? The mystery and dynamics between the characters often felt detached for me. Overall I enjoyed this story and what it truly represents and that is to welcome all the ways to live the human experience.

Family drama and marriage of convenience. But even learning about the characters and their past connections, I still had a hard time understanding them personally on a deeper level. Not everyone cares for that though and that is why Id recommend this to someone looking for a lighter fun read to binge, and it's so pretty! I think a lot of people are going to enjoy this not being a typical romantasy. I did overall like all the original elements it had through out.

But when I read the description, I saw myself immediately because I have actually been taking wildlife photos at the San Diego Zoo for years ! I loved that little mention of it later in the book. I really enjoyed watching Kate come into her own, despite her peers critical opinions, she was driven by faith and was determined to prove she had just as much right even with less experience from her competition in wildlife photography. I was rooting for her because everyone needs to start somewhere and if you are passionate enough there is room for everyone to begin their dream. The chapter header quotes of nature were such a joy. The setting and scenery was the perfect backdrop for a romance to bloom as well.

Melissa Poett grabbed my attention immediately and the story took my entire heart. Start to finish was just perfection to me. It has a day to day delightful pace where the main characters are unraveling secrets in their dystopian world together. The yearning that I am always on the search for between the love interests was just divine and without any miscommunication. Well, you can't lie if you share a mind to mind connection ! The unique magic only added to the wonderful journey the two were on learning about each other. Tristan and Isadora were so inspiring and will be forever a favorite couple of mine. Incredible YA debut from the author. I can't wait to get this in a physical copy !

The plot unraveled so wonderfully haunting and beautiful. The multiple 'days earlier' foreshadowing through me off though. There were so many great cliffhanger chapters but then going back in time so much was hard for me to immerse myself in it completely. I still enjoyed the story. 3.5⭐️

I hated to love A Study in Drowning because Ava has a way to get me completely obsessed with the dark and gorgeous atmosphere but then I struggle to appreciate, personally, the character development. I was not fond of the repetitive low regard that Effy had to go through yet again with her peers. I think ASID should have been left as a standalone. Sadly this was not as enjoyable but I would still recommend the first on its own because the ambiance alone is one to experience.

It is Boys with Sharp Teeth was honestly one I was anticipating the most to read this year. That cover was obviously what grabbed my attention first. It is so stunning. As for the story, just when I thought I knew where it was going I was completely shocked by the twists. I really didn't expect a lot of it coming from the description. Im going to be terrified of mirrors for a while. It's definitely dark but stays in the YA lane. I understand that it is a standalone but it really didn't need to be so long. The short chapters with mini cliffhangers is honestly what kept me reading it. I pushed through because I needed answers and was overall happy with the outcome. I love a good who-done-it. I hope this finds its audience. I think the blurb needs to be revised for that to happen.

I would definitely recommend this to a friend who needs a poolside read the doesn’t require you to have to fully commit to the characters.

The plot and the magic system were great. The one thing about the writing is I’m not a huge fan of when the dialogue is consistently having the character asking themselves questions. It becomes repetitive and reminding the reader too much of what they already know and could potentially have the reader lose interest, but understandably it is a YA. The more the story unfolded the more I was intrigued to learn about the Raven and was excited for the relationship forming between him and Leisa. Overall, for the audiobook, I love the idea of a series is being put into one purchase. For this series, it is split into two audiobooks three books in each audiobook, which I find very convenient.

The world build is exquisite and the magic system is devastatingly beautiful and intensly tragic. I liked the multiple character POVs and how they were braided into a fantastic timeline. It was very fast paced and unfortunately for me, during some of the dialogue, when I would try to connect emotionally with a moment or character I felt like everyone would move on quickly and it was hard for me to get attached when rushed to continue. For a YA this felt very epic fantasy with the rich discription of the supernatural, evils lurking, and landscapes. I enjoyed it.

Now let’s get to the story (NO spoilers). The FMC (Vivienne) is an entitled brat with a history so dark, while her past unravels to ribbons you understand exactly why she lashes out with grand sabotage schemes. She reminded me of Blair Waldorf, but possessed and a ballerina with a top tier ASL rep. The MMC (Thomas) He is the most selfless and caring despite his own trauma. And is the perfect forbidden bodyguard romance character since Moulin Rouge ! I loved reading this during spooky season. And I need a physical copy as a trophy once it is out.
