Especially in the middle. The Peter chapters of stream of consciousness and then Yoda-talk sentences were hard to read. I did like the characters but felt like in both cases, they cared too much about what other people think about them. Like in Normal Ppl, there were missed opportunities to have a truthful conversation. Finally they talk to each other in the last chapter - I thoroughly enjoyed that. Wishing there was more of that. But they somehow include the big topics - life, death, love. Always thoughtful. It’s a joy to revisit Olive any time ! So straight forward and direct. No doubt how she feels. Refreshing. Her friendship with Isabelle is so lovely. A simple pleasure like reading her the newspaper daily becomes so important and joyful. This sounds like the end of these characters. I hope not. ...more
