It really did. The story hooked me. The two main leads and their chemistry made me jump with joy from the very start but somewhere along the way the story lost its connection. I would blame it on the fact that this was a closed door (open door?) romance. There wasn’t any spice scenes (not that there needs to be!!) but I feel like one good scene would’ve done this book better especially with insane tension between the two leads. But also, I felt like parts of the story were rushed. Especially when it came to FMC and her daddy/ baby daddy issues. That could’ve been explored more and deeper depth. I really did like this, just not enough for it to be a five star book. It’s a solid 3.5-4 star and I’m excited to see what else this author has written!...more

I wasn't a fan of the random Spanish nicknames tossed around but was a huge fan of the overall concept, characters and wrap up. And I try so hard not to compare author works but it IS hard. This on the other hand? Ana's writing was at it's peak. From page one till the very end, I loved this one. Even the way the characters develop, I felt for them. Dante and Vivian were two firecrackers forced to be together under the most messed up circumstances, and while at first I thought Dante would be another cold hero who barely shows any emotion, he was quite the opposite, while he WAS cold, he is the definition of "I hate the world, but NOT you". I really loved these two together, and I am really so excited for the rest of the seven deadly sins. If this is book 1 I am only going to assume every sin is going to come out swining.

This was my first Catherine Cowles book and it sure as hell won’t be my last. This was in short BEAUTIFUL. This has got to be one of best dark contemporaries I have ever read. The details in this. The smut. The absolute perfection that is Clay and Fawn. This is dark romance deliciousness, and I cannot wait for part 2. I can’t believe I have to wait a month for next part to release.

It's very rare for an author to continuously write hits as often as Sav does, but here I am singing her praises. I really was not expecting much out of this book but I got a man obsessed, feral for his girl and soft for her. I also got such good spice, I felt refreshed.
Anyways, another solid contemporary dark-ish romance reads. ...more

I had the honor of receiving an arc (but not for review) and I am still going to review.
Some books are just poetic, this is that book. It such a beautiful tragedy, it is absolutely one of the best books you will ever read. This book is PURELY soulmate trope. Yes there is a forbidden aspect, a huge one but I can’t see anything further than soulmate trope. I cannot emphasis to you how you need to read this book. I genuinely loved Lotus by this author, died over Still Beating but June First is her next masterpiece. This book deserves all the hype. All of it.

When I tell, when I TELL you, this is that book. THIS IS THAT BOOK. This was so incredibly stunning. From the start, I was pulled in. I literally get teary eyed thinking about this book. When the most tragic moment of your life leads you to your soulmate and you can’t have them? What do you do? This was forbidden romance in the most beautiful way. I can’t even spoil it for you because just know when this book drops I need you all to read it. I need you all to just live and breathe this book. This author has yet to do me wrong. I literally have not read a bad book by this author since discovering her but that’s because she writes some of the most compelling love stories to date.
I kid you not, I will think about this book and the two others I’ve read by her for the rest of my life. 5 solid solid stars. My heart hurts and my heart is healed reading this....more

And I definitely didn’t expect a solid age gap but I got it, I really loved these two, like so much. This would’ve gotten 3 stars because the pacing was very off and there was no a-ha moment of when these two fell but because the spice scenes were SO good and I loved the two main characters and go to see people from her other universes this is rounded up to 4 stars. Does this deserve the hype? Yes and no. I didnt loveeee it like most other people did, but I did like it enough to finish and recommend it to people. Solid small town, single dad, spicy as fuck romance. ...more

this was everything I didn’t know I needed. Think wait for it by Mariana Zapata combined with some B.Celeste magic. God this was painfully good. I wanted so much more of this book and this couple. Nothing beats a book that talks emotions, healing and a hot single dad that rocks your world.
This was personal in a way because I felt for Stevie. I felt her struggle with her heartbreaks and how come she hasn’t healed yet? But then Fletcher, sexy single dad Fletcher comes along…and it’s just undeniable.
B.Celeste is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up owning every single book by her....more

I didn’t think I would connect with Poe because when I got glimpses of her from the series I thought her to be immature and yet in her own book I found her to be the most tolerable. She is a gem. And Alaric? Alaric is one MEAN mf. I mean wow holy hell, this is pure enemies to lovers, soulmates, forbidden goodness. I genuinely really could not get enough of these two. And these two didn’t get together until more then half way through this book so talk about some wicked tension and slow burn.
But Alaric and poe were a tragic masterpiece with a beautiful happy ending. I felt for both these two. I loved that they pushed each other’s button. I just wasn’t expecting Alaric to be so cruel? But man did it make for some good tension, angst and SPICE. I mean I don’t need to tell you that saffron is GOOD at spice.
I do wish we got more of the girls and the boys this time around and the epilogue was wrapped up with all their POV’s but this was solid and defintely lived up to the hype. This was seriously a book you’ll go back to once your done. ...more

This has go to be one of Karina’s best written books. The spice in this was phenomenal. I mean who doesn’t love some good vampire lovin? I will say that it should’ve been longer because the climax felt so rushed. I love anted there to be a bit more action as it built up to such a grand scheme only for it to fall a little bit flat.
