to never have to be a thirteen year old girl, again, but to always read about the world through the eyes of one in these pages.

such a moving book. i'll admit it's easy for me to get lost when he flashes back and forth between the towns and the dates [nothing new] so i reread a *lot* which definitely didn't hurt me.
i wanted to go find Trachimbrod, myself. such storytelling.

along with newly lit passion for bollywood, i have begun to taste, savor and swallow books about the mid-east and the division of the people who live along with newly lit passion for bollywood, i have begun to taste, savor and swallow books about the mid-east and the division of the people who live there. if you're up for a hard film that helps explain the division of India and Pakistan, I recommend "Earth" [part of a trilogy, starring Aamir Khan] around the time you read this book. the author here lived with a family in Kabul and talks openly about division, hardship and war. blessed with the abilty to walk freely between men and women because she was a westerner, the light she is able to shed on both sides of the discussion is breathtaking. i love the time i get to read this novel....more
