Hurst is an unusual Duke and he is paired with an even more unusual lady, Miss Ophelia Stowe. These two meet under unexpected circumstances and what follows is an adventure that could only happen in "high society" England of the late 1800s. Hurst and Ophelia threw sparks at each other from the very beginning, making me imagine what it would be like to be a fly on the wall during some of their interactions. I have enjoyed the Say I Do series of books. These can all be read as stand-alone entries, but they connect well together as a series. ...more

When she arrives in town, almost everything seems against her, including her neighbor Tanner.
I liked Callie from the beginning. I appreciated how she stood up for herself and decided to forge her own path when she realized that her life wasn鈥檛 what she wanted to be. Tanner was equally likeable in his own way. He comes with his foster family and they pull Callie in and help her on the way.
This is a feel good read. Tanner is a typical Foster leading man- a bit alpha, a bit wounded, but with a heart of gold. There is a bit of intrigue and family drama along with the developing friendships and romance. The lost 1/2 star comes from a bit of confusion 鈥渕issing鈥 information around Callie鈥檚 parents. They seemed to do a flip flop in attitudes from visit 1 to visit 2 and it just didn鈥檛 make sense to me.
I definitely enjoyed Let Me Be the One and I am Looking forward to Kam鈥檚 story. ...more

They spend a year fighting things, being friends, and getting to know each other. I enjoyed the build up, the way they built a foundation that was there when the tension finally got to be too much and they combusted together.
My only complaint was that some of the tension building went a little too long - there were too many 鈥淚 feel guilty鈥 moments before they went public in the worst way.
This is a connected stand alone and reading in order will add to the enjoyment, but it鈥檚 not necessary. Reading the other books helps understand who the secondary characters are, but Miles and Leighton are both basically new here....more

Yes, romantic relationships, friendships, and families are all woven into the story. But, the key relationships here are those with self. Beth and Jana are the two female main characters and they meet at a time when both could use a friend. We follow them as they develop friendships, explore the things they need, and start to form new romantic entanglements.
The storytelling here pulls you in and has you rooting for both women. I appreciated getting to know them and could see little bits of myself in their journeys. Both women had growing to do and the cast of characters around them (mostly) helped that occur.
Beach Vibes is a gentle read. There are some hard truths experienced, but would be a great book to take on vacation!

We are with a 鈥渘ew鈥 team that also crosses over with her Pittsburgh Titans world just a bit. Here we meet Bexley, the first female race strategist, and her former fianc茅/new coworker, Nash.
I loved these two! They both have worked so hard to get where they are and it shows. I appreciated the fact that Ms Bennett let us see their past and what went wrong so that we could better understand the people they are now. Some of those issues were learned from and some continued to be a problem. The research behind the world FI also showed and added amazing depth to the story.

Find out when we meet Carys and she tangles with the oldest Brewer brother, Gannon.
I loved these two together! From the way the both acknowledged their flaws, to the reluctant friendship, to the spicy more, they were just a great fit for each other.
The Merger fits well with Ms Locke鈥檚 bread and butter of family connected stories. We see snippets of all the Brewers. If you haven鈥檛 read the whole series, it can be a little bit to keep up with it, but it鈥檚 worth the effort! These stories are strongly connected and the previous world building makes this story stronger, so please consider that before you start here.
I can鈥檛 wait to see what happens with Tate!...more

I think Miles might be one of my absolute favorite book boyfriends! Here and Now brings us back to Ember Falls and the group of friends that we met previously, but don't worry鈥攖his is a complete stand-alone story. I appreciated how Ms Michaels allowed the relationship between Penny and Miles to develop slowly and addressed the fears she brought with her to town. I also loved how Penny's son, Kai, and Mile's family (both biological and found) were easily incorporated into the story. There were places where they played key roles in nudging these two along! Loyal Michael's followers will appreciate who Penny's older brother is (sorry, not telling) and the chance it delivers to see how this previous main character is fairing now. The world-building here is seamless! We get to learn more about the friends that make up the series feature players in a truly organic way and have the perfect tease for the 3rd book in the series. I'm definitely looking forward to it! ...more

She reconnects with her high school crush, Levi, when he returns to their small Michigan town.
This was a cute story that focused on communication and Jilly getting past her fears to try something new. Well written, this captures the relationship between the siblings and makes the reader wish for a family like the Kellers!
I truly enjoyed getting to know everyone and found myself rooting for Jilly and Levi to figure things out. If you have read the first book in the series, you will be glad to see more of Beckett and Presley. I am curious to see what happens to Grayson! ...more
