A great parenting book, even if I had to skip several sections that were focused on younger children than my two (pictured here, goof balls!). This book helps parents know that kids are ultimately 鈥済ood inside鈥� as are the parents themselves. We all want what鈥檚 best for our kids even if their behavior brings up feelings and emotional responses from us, when parenting. We need to remind ourselves that WE as parents are good inside too.

My oldest son is 8 and it鈥檚 a whole new world for us鈥e鈥檚 growing up on me! I鈥檓 on a mission to understand him and his obsession with screens of all types. I went into this book not knowing what the 鈥渟pin鈥� would be, so I was surprised at how much Shapiro advocated for the use of technology. I learned a bit and got some reassurance that it鈥檚 normal (and in some ways beneficial) for kids to be obsessive about gaming, social media and YouTube.

I loved the age-appropriate conversation starters for each topic covered. It鈥檚 never too early to begin talking openly about not only sex, but all issues faced by children because if they learn to come to parents with small issues, this translates into honesty and openness as they grow and have bigger problems.
