I was really surprised by this book. It is, in many ways, a romance novel. That is its official genre..not a genre I have fondness for. HOWEVER, the mI was really surprised by this book. It is, in many ways, a romance novel. That is its official genre..not a genre I have fondness for. HOWEVER, the man in the novel is a faery...not a little winged thing, but the type of faery of the faery traditions. That part was really well researched and gave the novel a good plot and made it really interesting and compelling for me. Also, it helped me understand some issues in the faery tradition that are more powerfully portrayed in this medium than in more scholarly texts. I don't think the bits about Tir-na-nog are right...but I think some of the other is quite inspired....more
