Let me preface my review by saying that very rarely you would find me reading and reviewing an erotica series, let alone one that has a sexy billionaire hero. I've been let down by this trope one too many times in the past so I've tried to avoid them like the plague. However when one of my trusted book buddy suggested and loved this series, I decided to take a chance on it. And hey, I could always use some extra guilty pleasure read in my free time ;)
All I can is holy WOW. When I started the first book, I didn't think I would devoured this entire series in one sitting. There were a few things in this read that shouldn't work for me but surprisingly, it didn't bother me too much. I wouldn't have believed that this is a debut author's work because the writing sucked me in easily and the story flowed so well. The MCs had more depth that I initially thought and it was interesting to see how they developed over the series.

The Bound trilogy is a sensual-filled journey with a modern infusion of a Cinderella theme. We have Angelica 'Angel' Lawson; the damsel in distress who's a photographer with a troubled past ever since her mother passed away and living with a father who neglected her growing up. Then in comes Ethan Wilde; Prince Charming in the form of a sexy, powerful billionaire with a (swoony) British accent. A chance encounter fueled with insta-lust was the spark that set things in motion for them. It was a sexually-charged read as they battle out their attraction for each other yet knowing being with each other could be their undoing.
Despite the rather cliche-sounding plot, I really enjoyed being surprised by how many twists were there throughout the entire trilogy. Especially with the 3rd and final book that really packed a punch there with several surprises I did NOT see coming. Both Angel and Ethan had to overcome several hurdles both as an individual and a couple and I thought it was nice to see how their relationship developed over the course of the trilogy. Also I felt there was a nice balance of emotional scenes overlapping with the steamy scenes plus some humor laced in at times to even out the angsty moments.
Overall this was definitely a series that served well as my guilty pleasure reading and I was glad that I took up to chance to read it. The only aspect that deterred me from rating it higher was that I could have done with slightly less sex scenes and cut down of certain repetitive phrases. But other than that, I thought this was a great debut series from this author and will keep an eye for her future work!

"Maybe one day, if it's meant to be, they'll intersect. In the meantime, we'll always have Del Mar and 101."
It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Aleatha's work since the Consequences series. She's one of my go-to authors for the dark suspenseful reads. So when she decided to start a new serial series, I couldn't pass up the chance to read it despite the wait in between.

Just to clear the air up behind the title, there is NO CHEATING involved. The concept of betrayal here does not involve a third wheel nor is there any kind of cheating in its literal sense. Our heroine here, Alexandria has been living her whole life trying to reinvent herself. She's trying to leave behind her family in the Montague Manor who may seem prim and proper but there's more than meet the eyes. She refused to be controlled by her rich step-father who has a grip on her mother and be at his every whim. And so, she left the Manor to pursue her studies and started anew as Alex Collins.
During her recent grad trip with her bestie, Alex decided to escape reality once more by letting loose by coming up with her new persona, Charli. Crossing paths with one sexy mysterious and dominating man called Nox only seemed to help her fueled her fantasy to learn what's it like to lose control. One week with no strings attached, it sounds like the perfect plan but what happens when you want more?
"Our first time will be what you want, what you fantasize about. I'm going to take you, right here, right now."
This book had me equal parts intrigued and equal parts aroused. Both Alex and Nox are strong characters on their own and together, the sexual tension was clearly palpable. And sweet baby jeebus, Nox was such a deliciously sexy enigma that exuded the confidence that could probably melt my panties with his words. I loved how the alternating timeframes was done in the book and how it all came together to the present time towards the end. My only minor issue with that the first 3/4 of the storyline dragged a little and I was clueless to where this was heading. But the final 1/4 definitely kicked this story up a notch and changed everything.
Betrayal is definitely a strong start to the Infidelity series and with the last quarter of the read that hints at where this story will go next has already got me impatiently waiting for the second book!! I need more Nox, that's for sure. Can't wait!

Betrayal is the first book in the 5-parts Infidelity series. Next book is set out to release in Jan 2016.

This was a read that I thought had great potential but fizzled out at some point later on. I didn't exactly hate this read but I didn't love it either.
What I liked about this read was it was mainly driven by a male POV which was quite refreshing. I thought it started out great with the smartass humor that Dixon brings. He's a rather smug and cocky guy, being a psychiatrist who deals with addiction. To add onto that, apparently he's a sex addict too and has no qualms of banging his female patients.
“But I never said I was the hero of this story, or even the good guy. And besides, who wants to be good, when it feels so good being bad?
But then suddenly within one day, he finds himself attracted to two women who's "different" than most random women he bangs which leaves him in a predicament of having the trouble to pick one. We have Juliet, one of his patient who's a sex addict too and could give him everything he craves for: sex with no relationship. Another is Madison, the complete opposite of Juliet; sweet and innocent and makes Dixon launch into protective mode with her.
It's not a love triangle per se as it's more obvious than not who Dixon really wants but I can't help but be slightly annoyed by the indecisiveness that he had between choosing one. Most of the time, his dick seems to be calling the shots and just made me want to skim over the sex scenes. Also, Dixon seems to have it too easy for him when he tries to get Madison back.
The book does end in a mini cliffhanger and there'll be a second book somewhere early next year. Overall, the writing was pretty good but I just expected more in terms of the storyline and characters.

Hmmm I'm feeling rather indifferent about this read. It started out with some really great potential and I was really hooked onto the storyline. But after a while, it felt like the same things were being rehashed and left me feeling rather frustrated. Paxton's moodswings gave me whiplash for a good portion of the read although it seems that there's more to him that we've yet to learn. Was also looking to some really big mindfuck twist that others may have hinted but I had my hunches from the start and just wasn't blown away when I got to twist.
I really loved Gabby's two little daughters in the read tho, they brought out the light moments in this dark read. Gonna have to wait for the next book to decide what's my overall rating for this series. ...more

I'm probably going to be in the minority here for not loving this book as much as everyone did :( As much as I loved a tortured hero and a Scotsman no less, it was the plotline that didn't keep me invested in the story enough. I really loved the first half of the book but by the time I got to the second half, it sort of fell flat for me. The story was dragged out a little too long for my liking & thought that some scenes could have been condensed together without losing out anything important.
What I loved most about the book is the support for the cause of the dogs and I think the story executed that portion wonderfully. Lachlan's dedication to the cause really sets out an example and the fact that $1 from all purchases of The Play will be donated to animal charities is commendable.
The Play was definitely the heavier, emotional side of this series thus far. So if you're expecting something different from the first two, this would fit the bill....more

Right from the start, the Capital Confessions series got me hooked onto each of the Reynolds sisters' stories but this one is hands down my ABSOLUTE favorite! The irony was when I reading the entire series previously, Kate Reynolds was my least favorite sister and I wasn't even sure if my love for the series will continue up to the very end when it came to her story. But color me surprised! I know I shouldn't have doubted Chanel Cleeton when it comes to delivering another kickass heroine.
This final instalment will also be the hardest to review as any details of the plot may give out the most crucial parts away, so I'll try my best to give this book justice by my vague review.
This one had much more action, more intensity that keeps you on the very edge and the stakes have never been higher. Kate Reynolds is still grieving over the loss of her childhood friend and fiance, Matt whom she believes that his death was not a mere accident. Joining the CIA is part of her mission to investigate his death but when she starts uncovering the truth, it'll be more than just answers that comes to surface. Her life might just be on the line too and her saving grace will come from the one man she least expected to.
This book was just full of surprises and packed with intensity that had me flipping the pages so fast. Before I knew it, I nearly wailed in agony knowing that my favourite series was coming to an end so soon. Reading Kate's story and understanding more depth of her love shared between Matt definitely had my heart breaking for her. I mean, I always knew she had this undying love for him since the start of the series that drove her into this cold facade she put up but tapping into her thoughts finally led me to understand her motivation.
The romance was a slow build-up but it reeked with such strong sexual tension between our two leads that have you rooting from them since the start. Both have baggage on their own that needs to be confronted but I truly enjoyed seeing the support they had for each other as they try to mend their broken bridges.
Sex, scandals and politics; The Capital Confession series is definitely not a series to be missed and will be sitting proudly on my top reads list for 2015. Although I'm quite surprised by how this series wrapped up in the end, I thought it was still befitting given the circumstances of how everything played out. Similar to the prior books, there was no petty drama in the read and both MCs made mature decisions that didn't drive me up the wall. Throughout the series, the sisters always had each others' backs and it was just amplified even more in the final instalment. I loved every single moment of it and I can't wait to read more from this author!

Falling for Danger is the third and final instalment in the Capital Confessions series. Each book can be read as a standalone but is recommended to be read in order.

"Love is never satisfied with half-measures. It won't take parts of you. It will own all of you, every single, longing piece."
OH MY GOD. THIS BOOK. This is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for from RK Lilley for the longest time. I've had rotten luck with her past few works but THIS ONE is the one that reminded me why I loved her work in the first place. She came, she brought the mothafreaking angst and she absolutely conquered.
Both Scarlett and Dante completely owned this book. Right off the bat, these two are the most stubborn people and they keep holding onto their damn pride. There's just so much going between these two that are outright explosive! They hate each other yet they love each other. They've been childhood sweethearts but something so awful happened which we have yet to learn that tore them apart. I love their flashback chapters as much as I love the present. One made me so giddy on love while the other had me riding the angst!!
"What happens when two people of terrible pride fall for each other? Terrible things. Destruction. Chaos. Pain. Sorrow. War."
For all the angst-whores just like me out there, READ THIS BOOK!! It will satisfy your angst cravings and be prepare to get your heart stomped on into tiny pieces. This is a read that will gripped you from page one till the very end even if it means there is a huge cliffy right there. I just know I need the second book right this second. OMG MY HEART AND MY FEELS.
P/S: Thank you Jennifer for holding my hand while I read this book!! I'm so glad we went through this angsty ride together!

I've never been happier to stumble across another book that took me by absolute surprise! For that I have to thank my lovely girl, Feifei who brought this to my attention. Pretty cover, wonderful blurb and a story that left me reeling with such happiness after putting it down. There's a part of me that wants to re-read some scenes just to relive all the amazing moments again!
The story itself is very simple one on its own. Josephine 'Jo' Kramer has just landed a summer internship in Puerto Rico under a prestigious astronomy programme. While there with a few others, she met Adam McCay but they started off on the wrong foot. When they got paired up to work on a project, it won't be long till they acknowledge the undeniable sparks between them.
Initially, Jo was a rather hard heroine to love especially with her broody attitude and locking everyone outside of her world. She had no intentions on making new friends and only determined to work her arse off on her internship. But I was willing to look past that as I actually became more intrigued with her character instead. The more I learnt about what made up her insecurities, the more I accepted her and understood her actions.
Adam on the other hand is absolutely swoon-worthy, gah!! He's the dream guy; he got the looks and the brains and a wonderful heart of gold. The only problem was that Adam still hasn't gotten over his last love. Battling over his new-found attraction for Jo, he has to make a choice between fighting for the present or hold onto the past. I absolutely LOVED how Adam chose to sort out his feelings first before attempting anything with Jo. This is the level of maturity I would expect from a NA read and it delivered here.
"And if we ever kiss- when we kiss, it's going to be when I can give you everything. Because that's what you deserve."
I'm also in love with the setting of this book, the real places described and used by the author in this read really piqued my interest till I had to actually go look them up online. There was one scene where Jo & Adam visited Vieques Island which is known for its night view where the ocean water sparkles. And oh my gawd, it was breathtakingly gorgeous!!
The picture above is in actual fact the real place itself. In that moment, I truly believed that Jo & Adam swam in a universe of stars. It was such a beautiful, romantic moment that has been etched into my memory now. Definitely adding that to my bucket list of places to go

When the Stars Align was definitely a solid read from start to end for me and one that I'm genuinely happy that I gave it a shot. It had a good balance of angst and romance, the steamy scenes were deliciously hot and the characters were so well-developed throughout. The story flowed well for me and the push-pull between the MCs was one that I could appreciate without getting really annoyed or frustrated at.
Definitely one of the better NA reads I've had this year and cannot wait to read more from this author!

"Break the rules, Karla. Just this once."
Everytime I pick up a LH Cosway book, I just know that I can expect something different each time. Reading her stories is just as good as living through her characters' lives and I find myself easily whisked away into their world. With endearing flawed characters and a pair of star-crossed lovers taking center stage, LH Cosway delivers yet another stunning read that will leave your heart pounding.
Karla Sheehan and Lee Cross are two people leading very different lives; one who upholds the law while the other breaks it. Right off the bat from their first interaction, there was just no denying the sparks between them. Lee is a sexy flirt that can be intense at times but yet he also has this sweet, protective side of him. It's no surprise that a strong heroine like Karla would be tempted by this incorrigible sexy man!
A huge crux of the story will have the readers experiencing the ins and outs of the police scene where Karla always find herself crossing paths with the Cross brothers. The romance is a slow burn but the sizzling chemistry was always present when Karla and Lee are in close proximity. The atmosphere surrounding this read can be quite intense at times because all those hidden glances and sexual tension were just begging to explode already.
What I really loved about this read (and in every LH Cosway read) is simply her characters. There wasn't anything extravagant about the plotline but it was her imperfect characters and their dynamics that stole the show for me here. Karla and Lee may be two people who share different beliefs about the world they live in but when they're together, they've allowed each other to view it a little differently. There's always more beyond the black and white of the world.
Admittedly I wasn't too sure where the story was heading in during the first half but the second half of the read got me back on the saddle which I really enjoyed. LH Cosway delivers yet another captivating read with Hearts of Blue that is filled with alluring characters which you can't resist falling in love with. The Cross brothers surely stole my attention already and I can't wait to get their stories next!
