"Kona was not perfect, but he was her perfect."
If you've read Thin Love and was swept away by the hurricane of love that is Kona & Keira, this novella is like an early Christmas gift by the author that revisits our favourite couple and delivers your needed fix of these two.
My Beloved gives you the glimpses of the events leading up to Kiera & Kona's wedding and if you know this couple well enough, nothing comes easy for these two. There will be obstacles, there will be hurdles but can their love withstand it all over again? While this served as a novella, Eden Butler still managed to deliver yet another intense read fuelled with a burning passion from both our flawed characters. Even with that HEA light at the end, my heart still beat anxiously for these two. Their dysfunction coupled with some external forces surely packed a punch with this read as you once again witnessed how tumultuous their relationship is.
Overall I devoured this up in no time and this novella being an extension of Kona & Keira's love story, it gave me what I needed from these two and that being a great sense of finality with a well-deserved HEA for our lovely couple.
On another note, LOVE the teaser excerpt for Ransom's story and now we'll have to wait patiently for his story due to be out late next year. Oh the agony!

5 STARS! ★★★★
You know that feeling where you just put down a read and all you want to do is scream out from the rooftops how amazing it was? I've been sitting at work all day with a goofy smile on my face every time I think about this read! If Showmance was a real life musical play, I'd be in the front row audience giving it a standing ovation and demanding for an encore. Rose & Damon's story was a tantalizing performance that will hypnotise and captivate you from page one. I would happily devour it once more just to fall in love with the story all over again.
One of the greatest joy in picking up an LH Cosway book is knowing that I can always expect something different from her, may it be the vivid settings of her stories to her beautifully flawed characters. It's like walking into my favorite ice-cream parlour, demanding for the flavour of the day and I'd walk out like the happiest customer and ready to come back for more. Showmance is no exception with LH Cosway transporting us to the musical theatrical world where the alluring Moulin Rouge play comes to life.
Rose and Damon were amazing characters on their own, each with their own little quirks that made me fall in love with them even more. Rose is a choreographer who has mad dance skills but has never been interested to be in the limelight. She stays with her best friend, Julian (whom is so freakin awesome!) and we see him nursed Rose through her bad breakup with an ex, Blake who was a doucheface actor. Ever since then, Rose vowed to not let her heart be tempted by another actor until Damon Atwood landed a role in the upcoming Moulin Rouge that she's been working on.
It would be an understatement to say how much I ADORE Damon. Honestly I made a mental list of 10 things why Damon Atwood is possibly one of LH Cosway's best hero yet (Jay Fields is still sitting on the top spot with Oliver King close behind but I'm pretty sure I just bumped Damon to second place!!). Damon was not your typical Hollywood golden boy, he was anything but. Which only made his character so endearing because he reminded me like a lost sick little puppy when he first showed up in the book. He was like a quiet storm that you can't quite understand at first but yet you're drawn to the intensity brewing behind his reserved character. Being able to tap into his thoughts and understanding the pieces of him he's hid from everyone, it was hard not to fall in love with this man.
Now getting on to the main reason I really loved this book, which was the slow burning romance between Rose and Damon. All I can say is that the sexual tension will be burning through the pages! It was a slow, sexy tease of a dance that Rose and Damon were playing at that had me tethering to the edge of self combustion. It was executed perfectly because when it hit the boiling point, the emotions that rolled off the pages went off like the fourth of July. Imagine the taste of sweet victory when the romance was worth the wait. Oh it was so good, trust me, I could only dream of having the kind of love that Rose and Damon had. I was hardly fazed by the drama that surrounded them who tried to break these two apart because I had so much faith in them.

With the perfect balance of angst, humor and romance, Showmance is a true testament of how talented LH Cosway is by showcasing her versatility when it comes to her writing. This author never cease to amaze me with her stories but mostly, it's the raw passion that I felt through her words that always latched onto me every single time I read her books. Another stunning performance delivered by LH Cosway, this book has undoubtedly made its way to my top reads of 2016. Also I am absolutely dying, DYING for Julian's book now!

I've never been more thankful to my reading buddies for introducing such a tragic yet “There is no one I would rather see the sunrise with than you.
I've never been more thankful to my reading buddies for introducing such a tragic yet enthralling love story that left me deeply wounded because OH MY GOD THIS BOOK. Thinking about this book makes my heart hurt every single time. It's been a few days since I've put it down but the ache in my heart has hardly been soothed at all.
I'll be honest: I rarely pick up a book that involves a retelling because duh it's a retelling. I'm always afraid that it would be predictable in some ways but with The Wrath & The Dawn, I couldn't flip the pages fast enough!!
As the blurb mentioned, this is a story inspired by the A Thousand and One Nights; in this one we have a strong heroine by the name of Shahrzad or easily known as "Shazi" who volunteers herself to be the next bride of the King. By each sunrise, the King kills off his bride until he takes a new one in and the vicious cycle repeats. She vows to take vengeance for her friend who is just one of the many victims.
Right from the start, I already had the good tingly feelings that this book was going to give me the EPIC feels. The author's writing flowed through the pages beautifully and the characterization of Shazi was nailed down to my perfect heroine type. She was courageous yet it allows you to see her vulnerability when facing the throes of her death.
“A true plague of a girl. And yet a queen in every sense of the word.
And the King, Khalid. BE STILL MY HEART. I didn't imagine I would fall head over heels for him but I did! In every way that matters, I truly did. Tortured with a secret that hangs over him, his brooding personality from the start drew me immediately. The romance and chemistry between Shazi & Khalid was so naturally beautiful- thinking about it still give me the goosebumps. It's just that good. I lost count on how many quotes I highlight from this book alone- simply amazing!
“What are you doing to me, you plague of a girl? he whispered. “If I’m a plague, then you should keep your distance, unless you plan on being destroyed. The weapons still in her grasp, she shoved against his chest. “No. His hands dropped to her waist. “Destroy me.
Easily another top read of the year for me, I can't believe I didn't find out about this book sooner last year! The book ends with a mini cliffhanger but thankfully, I heard it's a duology so the agony of waiting the next one will be worth it!!
Pick up this book, you won't regret it. Fans who are looking for an epic love story won't be disappointed because Renee definitely knows how to spin a tale that will captivate you and bring you down to you knees with this. I need my own King Khalid!!
“You have a beautiful laugh. Like the promise of tomorrow. ...more

I don't know why it took me so long to pick this series up but my God, this is quite possibly THE BEST fantasy series I've come to read and love. I know the last time I felt this way was reading The Infernal Devices but oh my gawd THIS SERIES- from having the most badass heroine that has graced the literature world to weaving a storyline that knocks the wind out of you, Sarah J Maas proves why she deserves to be the Queen of YA Fantasy.
“She was fire, and light, and ash, and embers. She was Aelin Fireheart, and she bowed for no one and nothing, save the crown that was hers by blood and survival and triumph.
I've spent the last 2 days reading the prior books and even after 24 hours of finishing this latest masterpiece, the read still consumes my mind. Entirely. What started out quite simply for all the characters in Throne of Glass has grown immensely up to this point and to fathom that this is hardly the end, I'm in awe. The twists and turns, the unexpected romance, the badassery that is Aelin- it continues to blow me away each time.
No doubt that it's the characters in this series that have stolen my heart and has me placing this book on a mighty pedestal. I would have never imagined that when I first started this series, the dynamics of Aelin, Dorian and Chaol would have changed in so many ways. Yet Maas pulled it off flawlessly and the entire last portion of this read would have warranted 10 stars alone from me. The gigantic amount of feels that slayed me right there!!
“They joined hands. So the world ended. And the next one began.
I'm literally in book hangover after this one and honestly I'm sitting here with glasses of wine wondering how I'm going to get through another 9 months to get the next book. It's absolutely agonizing because even with this being just right past the halfway point of the series, I know the worst has yet to come. I'm terrified and nervous out of my wits, pondering the fates of these characters. I'm DYING to know who Aelin will ultimately be with. I'm DYING to know if any of my favourite characters are going to die next. I just, I can't-
I'm not over this book at all, can you tell? #bookhangover
Deservedly a winner of the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Choice Awards this year, everyone just needs to read this series and revel in the awesomeness that is Sarah J Maas.

"I want Emma Burke. I always have. And I'm going to fight like hell to make her mine."
It's no secret that I've been DYING to read about the youngest Harper boy after finishing Wild Reckless. I even took the liberty to put that in my latter review and proceed to harass beg Ginger to write a spinoff book for him. AND MY WISH CAME TRUE!! This book delivered again when it comes to the delicious angst that I craved for and put me through quite an emotional wringer.
Wicked Restless is Andrew's story and if you remember him from the first one, he's Owen little brother and I could still recall what an endearing boy he was that had me pinning for him already! The book starts off with a 16-year old Andrew and boy was he adorable and smart. It's no surprise Ginger always write my dreamlike boys and I loved that she portrayed Andrew like a realistic teen boy who gets nervous around his crush (cue the awwh!). Needless to say, Andrew was smitten with Emma Burke when he first met her at a P.E lesson in school and he worked up his courage to be closer to her.
Friendship bloomed between these two and slowly dabbled into something more but it seemed that Emma was keeping a secret from him. We get POVs from both sides which really got me engaged into this read easily and I was just itching with suspense. However before these two got a chance at young love, one night changed everything that sent them both on a completely different course, forcing them to be apart. For good.
We are then brought to five years later where both Andrew and Emma are now attending college. They say time heals everything but certainly not for Andrew. He's a changed person; he's no longer the innocent boy, he's a fighter. When luck pushes them to cross paths again, both of them are forced to relive a past that tore them apart.
Omg can I just say how much my heart broke for my poor Andrew?! I'll admit, it was hard for me to accept the changed Andrew and had me a little pissed with the decisions he made when he met Emma again. But as I read on, I could understand Andrew's resentment during all those years he lost after that tragic night. We got snippets of his thoughts, delivered in the form of his letter writings during those years and trust me, I dare you to not feel sorry for this boy!! I was absolutely GUTTED during those moments, to listen to a young boy's voice who held so strong onto that young innocent love and how he just LOST it in a blink of an eye. And the things he've been through...I can't even seriously.
And with all of Ginger books, she proves that she isn't one to shy away from tackling the sensitive topics that is far from fiction. I'm so glad that she infused that into her characters and storyline which makes it so much more relatable to most of us. Andrew and Emma had a lot to work through before they can come to terms with what happened between them and it was done just right to dish out the needed angst.
Overall Wicked Restless had everything I hoped for and so much more. I didn't think we would have gotten Andrew's story from this angle but I loved the bold move Ginger took with this. This was a second-chance romance read with an edge. Not forgetting the appearances of Kensi & Owen from the first book that was also slotted nicely into this story, being the nice icing on the cake.
I can't wait to see what else is in the pipelines for Ginger but count me in for the eagerly wait!!

"But as long as air moves in and out of my lungs, as long as I breathe, I will fight for you. I will fight for us."
Once again, Brittainy C Cherry has delivered a top-notch romance read and dare I say rather effortlessly. Her previous work, Art & Soul easily snagged one of my top reads of 2015 and so does this one. Right from the prologue, I already knew this book would put me through for an emotional ride.
This is a story about loss, forgiveness, redemption and finding love again. Both MCs, Tristan and Elizabeth have experienced a crippling loss by losing their most loved ones and stumbled upon each other when they became neighbours. Tristan is the least of welcoming and puts up an icy exterior to every person he comes in contact with. Even after an attempt by Elizabeth who saved his dog, Tristan wants nothing to do with this woman.
Eventually when they realised they shared a common loss, they saw a chance to make their pain more bearable by holding onto their past through each other. Two broken souls who desperately seeks the feelings they once felt and longed for. But will they be able to move forward if they keep latching onto their pasts?
"She undressed me and made love to her past. I slid into her and made love to my ghosts."
I've said it before but I'll say it again: this author has a way of writing so beautifully that will tug at your heartstrings in every book she puts out. From the admirable characters whether main or supporting, you can't help but be smitten by all of them. Even right down to the golden retriever, Zeus. She brings the light moments into the read by bringing in characters like Faye who says the darnest things that cracked me up like mad! But most of all, this author writes like she pours her heart and soul into every read because you will truly feel for these characters and experience their love, their loss and their heartbreak of it all.
"The magic is in the tiny moments. The small touches, the gentle smiles, the quiet laughs. The magic is about living for today and allowing yourself to breathe and be happy. My dear boy, to love is the magic."
Easily another of my top read of 2015, The Air He Breathes promises a love story that teaches you that with loss, there can still be love. There is beauty in tragedy and there can always be more than one happily ever afters in your life. This story will gripped you from start till end and also promises some unexpected twists that will shock you. I'd highly recommend this read for sure!!

Oh. My. God. I cannot remember the last time I cried so hard over a read but this book completely wrecked me inside out. I mean, I was full-fledged sobbing into my pillow during the last 10% and I didn't know if I could even finish the read for crying out loud.
A. Meredith Walters has once again succeeded in punching me right in the feels (multiple times may I add) with this heartbreakingly beautiful read. There's just so much raw honesty in her words and so much truth in how we cope with the thought of life and death. This story had absolutely consumed me right from the start and I almost wished it never end.
"Stop thinking about your life in increments. Seconds. Minutes. Days. Look at the bigger picture and embrace whatever time you have. Don't look constantly toward the end. Enjoy the right now."
This book had everything I loved in a read. I laughed as much as I cried. The heavy moments were balanced out by the light moments. The pain from the heartache equally compensated by the joy in finding love. I felt like I was truly a part of Corin & Beckett's journey and I wanted to live alongside them. Forever.
Also I never thought I'd get to say this ever but there is finally, FINALLY someone who can match up to Augustus Waters. If you don't know who that is (shame on you!), he's my ultimate book boyfriend from my all time favorite soul-crushing beautiful read The Fault in Our Stars. I'm not even going to tell you how many times I cried reading this book or watching the movie. So yes, Beckett Kingsley, YOU DEFINITELY GAVE ME THE BUTTERFLIES FEELS.
This is a definite must-read for all you romance lovers who thrives on the great emotional punch in their reads.

I can't remember the last time I had a 5-stars winner read but I couldn't be happier that I finally found one with a Mia Sheridan book. Most of us are no strangers to this woman's talented gift in writing but I am one of a few to admit that her books have been hits or misses with me in the past. But I believe if there is one thing we can all agree on when it comes to Mia's books, it is that you can always walk out of the read with a renewed sense of hope.

Grayson's Vow being the latest addition in her Sign of Love series is inspired by the zodiac sign of Libra, symbolizing the scale of balance. In this modern tale, we have Grayson and Kira, two desperate souls with a vow to fulfil but lacking the financial resources to accomplish them. They find themselves in an interesting arrangement proposed by Kira, one so outrageous but tempting that Grayson couldn't resist saying no to. After all, desperate times call for desperate measures, no?
Both Grayson and Kira butted heads at every chance they get, going as far as dubbing one another as the wicked witch and the fiery dragon. They can't stand each others' guts but try to play nice for the sake of living out their new partnership. I really enjoyed watching these two spitting-fire at each other as it builds up for some great humor especially with all the name-callings and sarcastic remarks that had me chuckling.
"Oh, I dare you. Show me that dragonish side. Do your worst."
It also made up for some delicious angst as they battle the undeniable attraction between them but are too stubborn to admit. It's not before long before they realised that despite being complete opposites on the scale, they shared a common bond that led to their distrusting behaviour towards people around them.
As I was reading Grayson's Vow, I found myself in multiple emotional states; from laughing at the witch-dragon name callings, then to heartbreak from the betrayal they've been through but lastly, a renewed sense of belief that there is hope in all things that mattered. Reading Grayson and Kira's story brought such joy to my heart as I connected to both of them on such a personal level that I can't quite fathom. I'm not even ashamed to admit that I had tears in my eyes more times than I can count as I grieved for these characters. This is a true testament of Mia's ability to put out words that have the power to break and heal you thereafter.
The thing I LOVE most about her books is that she writes about these real-life situations, real-life problems that we all go through whether we like it or not and they remind me that these characters are just like us living in this very real world. She write these stories that grants you strength, to remind yourself that even at the deepest and darkest corners of your life, there is always hope if we choose to believe in it. Her words speak volumes and with such raw honesty that I find myself clinging onto them everytime.

Of dragons and witches and of love and betrayal, Mia Sheridan continues to deliver romance stories in spades. This is a story that will leave you enamoured by her characters and convey a message of hope amongst the beautiful setting of Napa Valley. I can easily say that Grayson's Vow is now my favorite Mia book to date or perhaps I'm more bias towards this one since I'm a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope.
Honestly if I could erase my memory and read this book all over again, I would a thousand times over because I can barely bring myself to read another book after finishing this. Definitely going into my top 2015 reads list. So thank you, Mia for sharing yet another piece of your beautiful gift with the world

"I knew this had danger written all over it. Knew there was something wild in him that hadn't been there before."
Right from the start, the Capital Confessions series got me hooked onto each of the Reynolds sisters' stories but this one is hands down my ABSOLUTE favorite! The irony was when I reading the entire series previously, Kate Reynolds was my least favorite sister and I wasn't even sure if my love for the series will continue up to the very end when it came to her story. But color me surprised! I know I shouldn't have doubted Chanel Cleeton when it comes to delivering another kickass heroine.
This final instalment will also be the hardest to review as any details of the plot may give out the most crucial parts away, so I'll try my best to give this book justice by my vague review.
This one had much more action, more intensity that keeps you on the very edge and the stakes have never been higher. Kate Reynolds is still grieving over the loss of her childhood friend and fiance, Matt whom she believes that his death was not a mere accident. Joining the CIA is part of her mission to investigate his death but when she starts uncovering the truth, it'll be more than just answers that comes to surface. Her life might just be on the line too and her saving grace will come from the one man she least expected to.
This book was just full of surprises and packed with intensity that had me flipping the pages so fast. Before I knew it, I nearly wailed in agony knowing that my favourite series was coming to an end so soon. Reading Kate's story and understanding more depth of her love shared between Matt definitely had my heart breaking for her. I mean, I always knew she had this undying love for him since the start of the series that drove her into this cold facade she put up but tapping into her thoughts finally led me to understand her motivation.
The romance was a slow build-up but it reeked with such strong sexual tension between our two leads that have you rooting from them since the start. Both have baggage on their own that needs to be confronted but I truly enjoyed seeing the support they had for each other as they try to mend their broken bridges.
Sex, scandals and politics; The Capital Confession series is definitely not a series to be missed and will be sitting proudly on my top reads list for 2015. Although I'm quite surprised by how this series wrapped up in the end, I thought it was still befitting given the circumstances of how everything played out. Similar to the prior books, there was no petty drama in the read and both MCs made mature decisions that didn't drive me up the wall. Throughout the series, the sisters always had each others' backs and it was just amplified even more in the final instalment. I loved every single moment of it and I can't wait to read more from this author!

"Maybe we are lost, and some of us just don't want to be found."
When Allison and I stumbled across the sign up for this read, we both knew we just had to take a chance with this one. To say I'm surprised by how much I really enjoyed this read would be an understatement because I went in with close to zero expectations as I've never read anything from this author before. While this book screams dark from the cover itself to the blurb that makes you shudder a little, the story was so much more than the dark elements. Beneath all that dark layers is a treasure of one profound love story.
Leigh is a troubled woman who ran away from her home, her family and left everything behind, she craves for the pain during pleasure and she can't get enough of it. But after meeting Gabriel Hart, he was not just another of those men who would gave her what she wanted when she offered. Gabriel is a war veteran who is suffering from pain, physically and mentally; he's just as broken as she is. Together these two realised that sometimes, you just need to be lost before you find yourselves again.
"How do you know me so well?" "Maybe I've always known you, and we were just waiting to be found."
There are definitely some trigger elements in this book that will shun readers away (non-consent rape, lack of self-love) but I think if you can get past that, you'll find yourself mesmerized by these multi-layered characters. The author had such a way with words that left me a little breathless as I read them. There's just something so hauntingly beautiful with this read that I can't really put into words. It's the kind where you find yourself immersed in this world filled with darkness but yet you take comfort in the glimmer of light and hope amidst it.
"The wounded, the broken, the struggling, the hopeful...the lost. We find beauty in poison, and we love the bitter taste."
The only mini struggle I had with this was that it was a tad lengthy read but overall, I was still blown away by this author's work. I'm definitely looking forward to read more from him and would recommend this book if you're looking for an emotionally gripping dark read that's gritty but still able to dish out a solid love story with a swoon-worthy hero!

"Drawn in by gravity, fueled by a fire as old as the universe itself. He was never letting her out of his orbit again."
I've never been happier to stumble across another book that took me by absolute surprise! For that I have to thank my lovely girl, Feifei who brought this to my attention. Pretty cover, wonderful blurb and a story that left me reeling with such happiness after putting it down. There's a part of me that wants to re-read some scenes just to relive all the amazing moments again!
The story itself is very simple one on its own. Josephine 'Jo' Kramer has just landed a summer internship in Puerto Rico under a prestigious astronomy programme. While there with a few others, she met Adam McCay but they started off on the wrong foot. When they got paired up to work on a project, it won't be long till they acknowledge the undeniable sparks between them.
Initially, Jo was a rather hard heroine to love especially with her broody attitude and locking everyone outside of her world. She had no intentions on making new friends and only determined to work her arse off on her internship. But I was willing to look past that as I actually became more intrigued with her character instead. The more I learnt about what made up her insecurities, the more I accepted her and understood her actions.
Adam on the other hand is absolutely swoon-worthy, gah!! He's the dream guy; he got the looks and the brains and a wonderful heart of gold. The only problem was that Adam still hasn't gotten over his last love. Battling over his new-found attraction for Jo, he has to make a choice between fighting for the present or hold onto the past. I absolutely LOVED how Adam chose to sort out his feelings first before attempting anything with Jo. This is the level of maturity I would expect from a NA read and it delivered here.
"And if we ever kiss- when we kiss, it's going to be when I can give you everything. Because that's what you deserve."
I'm also in love with the setting of this book, the real places described and used by the author in this read really piqued my interest till I had to actually go look them up online. There was one scene where Jo & Adam visited Vieques Island which is known for its night view where the ocean water sparkles. And oh my gawd, it was breathtakingly gorgeous!!
The picture above is in actual fact the real place itself. In that moment, I truly believed that Jo & Adam swam in a universe of stars. It was such a beautiful, romantic moment that has been etched into my memory now. Definitely adding that to my bucket list of places to go
[image]
When the Stars Align was definitely a solid read from start to end for me and one that I'm genuinely happy that I gave it a shot. It had a good balance of angst and romance, the steamy scenes were deliciously hot and the characters were so well-developed throughout. The story flowed well for me and the push-pull between the MCs was one that I could appreciate without getting really annoyed or frustrated at.
