But also seems to have a naivety that easily can harm her, or worse -- for instance her insistence of asking the "maitre d' " about the dilapidated money from the bistro could have made her next victim along with the chef that was killed earlier. I hope that in the next installments with her, she will be harder to be surprised like that...more

Just about every bit of descriptions of places around, or even of actions of characters, are so detailed, so ... cinematic, that you'd think you read a movie script, not a (short) novel. I wish her dog, Sherlock, made his presence available into her last "adventures" up to the end, though, given his cleverness that gave Maggie some clues along the story. Maybe he will have more to do in the future episodes of this series ?...more

The little dog, besides being too cute on the cover, is always the "helping hand" the Molly in the quest to uncover the mystery of the murder of town's librarian, and find the murderer. Which they did, in a raucously direct encounter (and a bit of dog's snap at the culprit's hand :-) ) It would be nice to watch in the next episode(s) how would the dog come together with Molly, since in the end it was taken back by the apparent owner....more

So the story teller (first person tellling) starts by resigning from his work. Later, at dinner, tells his parents this, but we do not understand why. And even later we learn his girlfriend-to-be died while they were hiking alongside a cliff, and while he was a bit away due to "nature calls" - we deduce she killed herself by jumping over the cliff. And in the end the story teller is on his way to do ... the same thing (?) That's it.......more

...more

The pirates raid over the ship ended too quick, and not very credible (really ? only at the display of plague flag ?!? hmm... ) I wish the story had more consistency. ...more
