I found it gripping and would/have reccomended it to lots of different people with different Reading tastes. Reviews said it was da vinci code-esque but I thought the writing was much better and the plot more realistic which made it easier to identify with the characters. It didn't mention any specifics about the Spanish civil war really bt even so made me want to look into it and I always think that it's a great sign in a book if it can spark your interest in something or make you want to learn a bit more about it without forcing the topic on you....more
