It does give a bit of a back-story to some key characters and what happened to them in the moments right after the final episode of Angel faded to black, but how this was all lumped together makes for a rather boring read. I think it would have made the After The Fall serial stronger had it been spread out throughout the series instead of dumped on the reader all at once....more
This wasn't what I expected. I'm not sure what I thought I'd get, but it wasn't this. Granted, I'm not a big comic book reader, most of my comics whenThis wasn't what I expected. Granted, I'm not a big comic book reader, most of my comics when I was a kid were Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and other Disney comics - so I'm a little out of my depth here.
Once I got into the rhythm of things, it wasn't hard to follow the story or the plot. Though the characters most of the time looked nothing like the actors from the TV show, and for some I had to dig deep into my memory to put an "actual" face to the name I was seeing.
Overall, I'm a little bummed we didn't get to see any of the fight going down right after season 5 ended (bloody WB/CW for cancelling Angel), but it was good to get some answers to some of the questions I've had about Angel, Wesley, Gunn and the others since the final episode a few years ago.
Will I read the rest of the "season 6" comics? Yup....more
