This is a short book and it had my interest the entire time. It was so easy to like Libby, the main character and the venue of Exham on Sea.
The plot was simple enough but very interesting and entertaining. The final reveals were unexpected and it all wrapped up nicely.
I had some trouble keeping in mind all the characters because there were a lot, or so it seemed, and because I was reading another book at the same time.
I will definetely read book 2 and will try to read it soon....more

Then I can imagine the words whispering to each other, sharing stories, making up new ones. Sci-fi chatting to romance; American history exchanging views with Brazilian politics; Vietnamese cookbooks swapping tips with Indian. And my beloved mystery characters listening in on everything, perhaps taking notes."

*** Lucy's dream has come true. Since vacationing on the Outer Banks as a teenager, it became her favorite place in the world. Getting a job as a librarian assistant at the Lighthouse Library was the best thing that could happen to her and I feel so envious of her LOL
For the most part of this book I felt truly fascinated by the scenery of the Bodie Island and a library in a lighthouse - how cool is that? Very cool. The characters were so adorable. Later on, the fascination diminished a bit because nothing exciting was happening but, still, it was a great pleasure reading about the daily routine in the bookshop and the occasional missing book - oops!
I hope to return to this wonderful lighthouse and see what the characters are up to....more

Fez-me lembrar um cenário tÃpico da Hallmark, deveras encantador....more

From a Christmas novel I expect good humor, an overwhelming joy and happiness so it was weird to feel a vibe of sadness and drama from the beginning. Still, I didn't give up and finished it. I didn't even like the characters - but I loved the setting, perfect for a Christmas book. I didn't care anything about the secondary characters and had no interest in reading so much details about the inn and its problems. Charlie's issues were just ridiculous and incomprehensible. It was all nonsense. I'm sorry......more

Have you ever seen a baby in an old people's home? They are worshipped. They become divine."
*** My second Christmas book of the year and it couldn't be much better. I fell in love with it, it's so damn cute and adorable. Also I felt fascinated by the descriptions of Edinburgh and I've been looking at photos of this city to better visualize it in my mind while reading. This is making me want so much to visit Edinburgh and I'd never considered it before.
Some chapters back I peeked the ending because, well, I just had to know. There's a bit of a romantic triangle. Well, not exactly romantic as nothing really happens, it's more of an interest of Carmen in 2 men and I had to know how it ended before reaching the end and I was super glad and enjoying more the reading knowing Carmen ends with the man I wanted her to pick.
Did I mention it's super adorable and funny?...more
