I enjoyed the narStarted the series from the beginning. I enjoyed one or two books in between. Might as well get to know all characters in the series!
I enjoyed the narrator. The epilogue was good. I wonder if that's the start of a new book because it was a different character from the main story.
This story followed a lawyer named Eddie Flynn. He's a good lawyer. He had a bad past. He was a hustler, scamming insurance companies. He was kidnapped by the mob. They put a bomb on him and told him to get into court with it. They were going to blow the guy that is turning against the mob boss to save himself. Eddie hasn't practiced law in a while. Being a defense lawyer isn't always great because sometimes he ended up helping bad guys walk away from doing bad things. He felt bad and turned to alcohol.
This story, however, Eddie had to work with everything he had to not only save himself but also save his daughter. The mob kidnapped his daughter and held her somewhere. Eddie used his hustle skills to outsmart the mob and those within the mob and along the way figure out a way to win the court case for his mob client.
Read this graphic novel for my kindergartener. She and I loved the story! The title caught her attention as well as the first page. Olivia's reaction Read this graphic novel for my kindergartener. She and I loved the story! The title caught her attention as well as the first page. Olivia's reaction to Lucy's being her little sister was funny. They're a year a part. They played together and had disagreements. Olivia sometimes felt annoyed that Lucy copied everything she did from the art work to the Halloween costumes.
In Kindergarten, Olivia has friends even though she's shy. She played with the same group of friends in every grade. Lucy had trouble making friends even though she's not shy. She wanted to be with her sister but her sister told her to stop tagging along. In middle school, they started at a new school. Lucy was okay at the new school but Olivia couldn't deal with change. She started to change herself and her eating habits. She lost weight and lost herself to the eating disorder. Their parents took care of Olivia and Lucy was often ignored and left to herself. She wanted her sister but her sister was angry often. Later, the family moved and they started at another new school. Olivia slowly getting better but Lucy's dealing with peer pressures and mean girls troubles. Lucy wanted change and trying to lose weight. Her sister reached out and helped Lucy so Lucy wouldn't repeat what Olivia went through.
The sister's story was sweet. I liked their secret sister code letters. I liked how they have each other. The summer camp was good. My kindergartener liked when Lucy draw her camp mate as the big bird. There are some lessons to be learned in this book and I'm glad to teach my girl early about eating, dieting, friends vs mean girls and bullies.. we also enjoyed the illustrations!

She read it for her dad and he was happy. This book is a great father's day gift! She also read it for me. We both loved the book and the illustrations! The book started with "I love you, Daddy!" Then go on to state that daddy works hard for the family doing different jobs like firefighters, doctors, police officers, bakers, etc.. but make time for family too like putting kids to bed, telling jokes, flying kites, etc.. Inside front and back covers of the book has pictures of daddy animals with each job. Would have been helpful if there's a name of the job at each picture because we can't tell..

Excellent story! Good suspense and mystery. I enjoyed this mystery thriller audiobook. A bit of a slow start at first but once the car was discovered Excellent story! Good suspense and mystery. I enjoyed this mystery thriller audiobook. A bit of a slow start at first but once the car was discovered in the lake and Hazel realized who the car belonged to, I was hooked to the mystery! The ending though, I'm unsure what will become of Jamie. I would also like to hear from Nico and his reaction knowing who actually killed his dad because he thought he lived with a secret for so long. Instead of the weather countdown, I would have loved it if there was a view of the killer explaining or justifying the reasons for killing.
This story followed Hazel. She came home to the small town to attend her father's funeral. He's not her true father but someone her mom dated. He took her in and raised her along with his kids. He's the town police and later are his sons. The will stated that his house goes to Hazel after his death. It sparked angers among the family especially the younger brother. As soon as abandoned cars surfacing from the lake and Hazel connecting the dots, secrets started to come out. Some wanted the secrets to stay buried to save someone they loved but not Hazel. She wanted to let the secrets out because she wanted to know the mystery of her mother's disappearance.
I got teary eyed with the family situation. Glad that stepfamily can love each other. I listened to the beginning of the story again and noticed what I missed originally. I also realized that their dad, Perry died without knowing the true killer which is too bad. It's also funny that the killer chased someone into the water instead of using the gun to shoot. Overall, a great story and I can't wait to check out other books from the author.

Many cool shoes and purses. The girls are diverse with different hairdos so she enjoyed putting on bows and headbands. The stickers are easy to remove and put on and shiny with different patterns and styles. She finished filling out all the girls but I noticed there are still many stickers left and then I noticed the cover of the book says reusable stickers so I realized she could remove the girls she dressed up and wear them in new clothes with new stickers!! This dress-up book kept my kindergartener busy for many hours! I'm tempted to play with it myself!

I didn't know this story was about the war in France. The Nazi was rounding up the Jews and the Jews were being barred from shops and schools.. sad.. This story is just what I needed. I don't understand crimes against humanity and the hate on Jews. I enjoyed the author's note at the end of the book.. a further explanation about the story and how Germany blames their problems on the Jews and killed millions of Jews. Now I understand when people mentioned antisemitism..
This story talked about Julian's grandma. A story of her growing up and going to school during the war. Her classmate helped her evade the Nazi and hid her at his farmhouse. This classmate who had polio that left him crippled. She and her friends made fun of him and laughed behind his back. She sat by him in class but hadn't spoken to him before.. until she accidentally dropped her notebook and he returned to her and later offered his help to avoid the Nazis.. his whole family risked their lives to help her.
I read Wonder from the author years ago and loved it. I read the picture book version for my toddler and loved it. This story is excellent for kids and everyone!

The illustrations along with pictures of real babies and toddlers were fun, especially their facial expressions!
The story started with "when I meet the farmer, my mouth says" and a picture of a toddler says Hi! with an open mouth laugh and a wave of his hand. Then the story goes on "she hops on her tractor and my mouth says" A picture of another toddler wave Bye! The story goes on "I see a big cow and his mouth says" A different toddler curve his mouth to say Moo! And the story goes on "then I smell his stinky poop and I say" Another toddler say Pee-Yoo! with an expression that the poo is stinky! There are illustrations of the farmer, her tractor, the cow and its poo along with the sounds the animals make. There are other farm animals in the story. Definitely a fun and excellent book for kids!

A rhyming story discussing how rivers are formed and where they are going. It starts with soggy lands maybe caused by the rain and melting snow. It created streams and run downhill merging onto each other to become a river. "River flowing, where's it going?" A question often asked in this book. It eventually tells readers where it goes. Very good and informative nonfiction book for kids! Loved the illustrations!

This story felt lengthy because Stephanie couldn't apprehend anyone she set out to do. She didn't seem actively finding different ways to find them either.
In this story, Stephanie was to apprehend Uncle Mo, the guy who run the candy store in the neighborhood. Everyone loves him and couldn't believe he does anything wrong. He was caught carrying an illegal weapon. But he didn't show up to court because he has a lot of secrets.
Stephanie tried to get with Joe Morelli. They have a complicated history together.
Stephanie attempted to apprehend another guy who worked the fast food chains in the mall but it didn't go well. She's new to the bounty Hunter job so I get it. I like the humor in this series so I will listen to other books because the narrator did a fantastic job.

Mabel lives on an island. There are 11 houses. No one leaves and no one moves in. One day a new boy moves in. His mom died and he came to stay at his uncle's house. Somehow his mom left the island years ago. The island is the gateway between the dead and the living. Every 10 years, a storm happened and it's when the dead appeared.. every month, 11 houses and its resident perform this routine to make sure their home is strong enough to withstand the storm. The storm is when the dead appeared...
Mabel has a sister with agoraphobia. Her mom's a drunk. Her dad passed from the previous storm. The story talks a lot about Mabel and her everyday feelings of home, love, and life. I don't feel much for Mabel. She seems so bland.

The mystery thriller started with Mac whose husband disappeared on the same night as Shelby being held hostage at Mac's cafe. She was left in the restaurant's freezer for dead but luckily was rescued in time. A year later, the bad guy resurfaced again with a threatening note on Shelby's car windshield. Her husband prepared her with a gun in the house for self defense. Mac, on the other hand deals with her husband's disappearance and possibilities of her being the killer who killed off her husband.
Then there's Florence who wants to do podcast to solve the crime as a way to reduce her chances from having dementia.
I lose interest with Florence and the lack of police searching for the killer especially when Shelby got attacked again and again with no official protection.
