The fantasy novel "The Wandering Fire (The Fionavar Tapestry, #2)" by Guy Gavriel Kay is an excellent sequel that draws us into the worldMy rating 4.5
The fantasy novel "The Wandering Fire (The Fionavar Tapestry, #2)" by Guy Gavriel Kay is an excellent sequel that draws us into the world of historical legends and mythology with fantasy elements. The author combined all that into an interesting story, although for me, it might have been a bit too much. Regardless, the story is complex and interesting. Five friends who supposedly went to a ceremony in a parallel universe in the kingdom of Ailella will eventually face the true truth of their arrival. They are all connected through the weaving of the Fionavar Tapestry, and their lives will be completely changed. The fate of each of them is connected to events that threaten to destroy the entire tapestry and all the connected worlds. Kimberly has become a prophetess and is looking for the greatest warrior. Jennifer's soul is seriously injured after the incident with Rakotha Maugriman, and she is left pregnant. Paul sacrifices himself to the Tree of Summer instead of the Overking and becomes a Tree born and thus saves the kingdom from drought, Dave fights with his new friends the Dalreim against the threat that has loomed over the world, Kevin has gone with the young prince Diarmuid on a campaign across the Saeren River to the Land of Gardens. After Rakoth escapes from captivity, the Overking dies, and the battle for the tapestry begins. All five friends returned to Toronto, but it was short-lived because Tapestry had completely different plans. The war has begun, and no one knows how it will end.
I would recommend this book to all fans of epic fantasy and mythology. ...more

The science fiction fantasy book "Valhalla Steel" by Sean Crow is an interesting combination of genres set in a parallel future. Everything is solidly integrated into an interesting story.
Now, a little about the story: Valhalla Steel, a gun-running clan of Vikings guided by their leader, Angus Jarlson, found themselves in disgrace after they killed a clan of chem-dealing Fae for killing his father. Many members of the Valhalla clan died in battle after these events, and Angus had to leave the ancient lands of his clan and flee to the other side of the world with the remnants of his followers. But the Fae have not forgiven him for the massacre he committed and want to destroy him at all costs. Angus must find allies so that he and his clan can survive, and whether this will be possible and whether his clan will disappear in merciless wars depends on the Gods themselves.

The first book in the fantasy series The Summer Tree (The Fionavar Tapestry, #1) by Guy Gavriel Kay is an interesting old-school fantasy My rating 4.6
The first book in the fantasy series The Summer Tree (The Fionavar Tapestry, #1) by Guy Gavriel Kay is an interesting old-school fantasy with an interesting story. At times, you can feel that it was written in the eighties of the last century, but that does not diminish the interesting story. The characters are well developed, the worlds in which the action takes place are very well described and the book is read in one breath.
The story follows five friends who meet the speaker, Loren, at the university. But Loren and his dwarf companion Matt are ordinary people. Because they are from a completely different fabric of the universe, they are magicians, and the source, connected into one whole. Their ostensible intention was to take the five friends to the fiftieth anniversary of the reign of the overking in Ailella. The friends agree to travel with them, not knowing that behind everything lies a secret with which they are all connected to the tapestry in one way or another. Where this fun trip will take them is completely questionable because all tapestries are connected, as is every person anywhere and in any universe. The friends will find themselves in a completely new environment where magic exists, and their lives will take directions that none of them expected. This journey is woven of secrets, and none of them will know what awaits them, nor what will happen at the end of the journey.

The fantasy book "Royal Assassin (Farseer Trilogy, #2)" by Robin Hobb is an excellent sequel to the first book, the story gains breadth, the characters mature and the descriptions of the areas where the action takes place are very well done. The author expands on the kingdom's intrigues, secrets, and deceit.
The book's main character, Fitz, barely survived a dangerous attack staged by Prince Regal. His body is completely exhausted and needs to recover. But Prince Regal has returned from the Mountain Kingdom to Buckkeep and, by all accounts, continues to scheme and deceive the court. The only one who can stop him is Fitz, but the poison he was poisoned with has left serious marks on his body. In addition, winter has arrived and the roads are covered in snow. But the longer Fitz stays in the mountain kingdom, the greater the danger his King Shrewd is in. The decision he must make is more than dangerous and will he be able to save the kingdom that is sinking deeper and deeper into ruin due to the attacks of the Red Ships and the intrigues at the court?

The epic fantasy novel "The Prophet of Edan (The Edan Trilogy, #2)" by Philip Chase is a well-written novel with an interesting story and characters. The worlds where the action takes place are beautifully described, and the very end of the book is unique. The writer easily introduces us to the world where the action takes place, and the book is a pleasure to read.

The Dark Fantasy book "We Are the Dead (The Last War, #1)" by Mike Shackle is a brutally good book with a very good story. The story weaves through human flaws and virtues in the most difficult times when their world falls into darkness. In these dark times, one can discover what courage means and how fragile the line is when heroes can become cowards and how cowards can become heroes. The writer did an excellent job of describing the characters and the world in which the story takes place. The writer did an outstanding job of explaining the characters' psyches and their behavior and how their stories will change throughout the book.
The elite units of Shulka have protected the citizens of the Jia Empire for thousands of years from the savage hordes of the Egril Empire, who raided the outskirts of the kingdom. The magic that once protected the kingdom has slowly faded over time, and very few magicians have collected the remnants of magic that remain. The hordes of Egril are once again preparing to attack the fortress that protects the approaches to the Jia Empire. The warriors of Shulka were ready for battle, but their military training and courage did not help them defend themselves from the hordes of Egril because they attacked them with dark magic and brutal force. The warriors of Shulka were decimated in a few days and the kingdom of Jia fell. The reign of terror of the occupying Egril Empire could only cause resistance, only how to fight against a bloodthirsty enemy who does not hesitate to kill all the inhabitants who do not submit. But always, even in the most difficult times, regardless of the consequences, some will fight against evil.
The book is brutal and bloody, but I would recommend it to fans of fantasy and dark fantasy....more

The book “Just The Beginning (The Accidental Cannibal) by Dale Rutter is a mediocre written book, on the cover I was expecting a lot. Honestly, in fantasy books, I expect to embody the world that the books describe but in this book, it is somehow superficial. The story itself has an interesting plot but everything is somewhat implausible, I honestly expected a lot more action, much more use of the power of the main character and other characters who have that power. The story of the moments is happening too easily and there is no tension I would expect in fantasy books. But underneath the surface could be found a real potential, only the writer needs the world and the characters to show a little better and bring us into the world where the action takes place. The readers want to create a world in their minds in the book, but somehow this book didn’t succeed in moments. All in all, this is my opinion; I'm sure some fantasy readers will love this book.

The first fantasy novel, "The Way of Edan," by Philip Chase, is very well written. The story, although a little slow, is well-developed. The characters are quite well written, as is the world where the story takes place. This is a great book to read. I eagerly await reading the next two installments in the series.
The Kingdoms of the Eormenlond in which the story takes place is on the brink of a holy war as Supreme Priest Bledla of Torrlond is considered the embodiment of the Way of Eden. He hides his true intentions deep behind a curtain of lies and deception.
A young man named Dayraven will find himself in this holy war by a combination of circumstances after he has a strange and deadly experience in the forest. His world and the dreams he dreamed of will collapse like a soap bubble because he will be chased from his tribe. But after this experience, he will find himself on the path of a holy war and his life will hang on the edge of a knife. The fantasy book "The Blood Stones (Legends of the Bruhai #1)" by Tori Tecken is very well-written, the characters are very well developed and the setting is very well elaborated. All in all, I liked the story, although even though it is a fantasy book, there is very little magic, I am convinced that it will burst with magic in the sequels because strong foundations were laid in the first book of the series. I would place the book in an epic political-intrigue-military fantasy, so you can expect political intrigues and several battles that are very well described in the book. The magic in the book is just hinted at, but in my opinion, it can take on enormous connotations.
The story begins with the execution of the murderer who killed the only royal prince. Nin and his Xario his brothers follow his execution even though they are forbidden to do so as the sons of the royal governor. At the same time, their children's world will scatter overnight like a house of cards and take them to places beyond their expectations. But will it be for them what they expected because the world they live in is not idyllic and not everyone gets what they want? In the north, among the Maleki tribes, we simultaneously meet the pride of Syndri, the daughter of a chieftain (my favorite character in the book). Her tribal world is constantly at war, but Syndri doesn't know that this world is about to go up in flames. Syndra will need much more than her courage and pride to survive future events, for the wastelands have no mercy for the weak.
If you are a fan of fantasy books, then you will like this book because every detail in the book is well worked out and thought out. I look forward to the sequel. ...more

The epic fantasy novel "To Ride Hell's Chasm" by Janny Wurts is a perfectly written book that I enjoyed reading. The world in which the story is set is so well written that it simply draws you into the story, and the characterization of the characters is polished to perfection. The fantasy novella "Mix Blood 2nd edition" by Whittney Corum initially has a perfect story, but I lack a little more description of the world in which the story is set. The characters in the story should be worked on a little more so that they shine in their full glory. I think that with these details, this novella could grow into a novel and be more fluid.
The story follows the normal shifter-elfin Astrid who rescues a dragon child and thus puts herself in danger from hunters who want that child. With this action, Astrid sets off an avalanche of events and the world she knows changes before her eyes. Everything she knew would fall apart because this game involved more than just elves, humans, and dragons. In the background of everything in this game of life and death, the gods of that world are included.

The novella "City of Mann" by L. Ross Coulter is, I must admit, the strangest book I've read. The first thing is that I don't know what genre to put it in, it is a utopian science fiction, fantasy, religious, historical, poetry, and philosophical book to which I could add another genre.
I honestly wonder what to write about the plot of the book, the main characters are floating cities and their guardians. It is a story about the evolution of one of those cities, among which is the City of Mann. But in my opinion, the book runs through a philosophical thesis about the divine influence on existence and the universe. The city of Mann and its guardian thrive, evolve, and suffer the consequences of the best decisions made by guardian Mann. Sometimes even decisions with the best intentions are not the best decisions.

The novel "Witch's Choice" by A.K. Stunt is quite a fun book with an interesting story about a world where there are gifted witches.
