Not in a bad way or a personal way, just in a wow, Dan Gemeinhart brought so many emotions to the story that you felt with the characters and sometimes I couldn't handle hearing Coyote get in trouble again or lose something again or make a mistake again. I don't think Coyote's dad made it like a big problem if she did something wrong, but I could still feel his disappointment in her/the situation. ...more

I thought they would have the man narrate all Colin's parts and the woman do all Nevaeh's parts, but it worked that they only alternated by chapter anyway. I'm excited to see that the next one comes out Sept 12, 2023. I liked the character development and am glad that we get the same characters for the series. I'm also glad they wrapped up this storyline and will start a new one in the next book. ...more

It was focused on characters and not so much on plot. Which just means it was very well written but not my favorite type of story. Nothing against her. I listened to it on audio because it was done by Ramon de Ocampo, who is fantastic. And honestly, for having like 12 fully developed characters, it was done really well. Each one had their own personality and you knew what to expect from each of them. Imagine a Rob Buyea book but even more characters. ...more

It made a decent road trip book since the main plot is a road trip, but while I'd definitely pick up Revolution again, I probably won't read Anthem again.
