It does seems like a love story or a typical rom-com from title but the themes this book explores is way beyond that and relatable as well.
These women have a regular life with career issues, guy problems, family crisis, etc. They struggled with heartbreak and choose to move on like many of us. However the journey they take in this process is something every woman can look upto.
For me, the book was really inspiring. Female friendship has always been my favourite subject and that is beautifully explored in the narrative amongst many other things.
If you were feeling lonely on Valentine's Day or craving for companionship, definitely read this....more

A hero that relentlessly follows the heroine, accepts his mistakes and pretty much is ready to do anything to win her back. Isn't this the dream for many of us girls?
Darling, Can We Start Over? is a story about second chances in love. Boy breaks girl's heart, girl moves on and tries to marry someone else. Boy realizes his mistake and tries to win girl back. Sounds cliché? Yes! But this is exactly what I expect from a rom-com. I love cliché and all the comfort that comes with it. I'll prefer a good old cliche rom-com over modern realistic relationship anyday.
Story has all the essential elements of a click flick: a strong independent female lead, hot rich male lead, silly banters, romantic gestures to make your hear flutter and what not! Narrative is easy to follow. Language is pretty simple.
Author's page said that if you are a fan of Sophie Kinsella, you will love Darling, Can We Start Over? Thats what made me pick this book (Sophie Kinsella stan) And I don't regret my decision! ...more

Imagine you are sitting on a comfy chair on a balcony. Its raining, you have a cup of tea in your hand and your favorite author is sitting beside you. You both are having a light chit-chat session and he is giving you some sweet advices based on his life experiences. That's how I felt while reading this book. Plus it has an actual handwritten letter by the Ruskin Bond. Cherry on the cake !!!
The illustrations make it even cuter and interesting to read. The book in itself is a work of art and words of Ruskin Bond make it even more beautiful. ...more

The Hating Game is about two colleagues turning rivals over the same promotion. Both are forced to share an office because of a merger (ahem ahem quite convenient). Soon they both realize they are attracted towards each other and start a secret romance/casual relationship kinda thing.
Okayyyy first of all full points to author for serving us some high level smut. It is strong enough to shake your imagination and still stays within the line of "decent" book (if you know what i mean wink wink). But is the firing chemistry between lead characters enough to keep readers hooked to the 200 something page long book. Definitely Not!
The Hating Game starts on a promising note. Two people stuck in a situation they dont want to be, figuring life out while lusting over each other seems like very good premise for a good rom-com. However as the story progresses I see very little character development.
I got to know more about the main characters but thats their past. What about future? How are they moving forward? There is a conclusion for sure but it came too late. Till then I was already very frustrated.
This is one of those books for me that are very neat in the first half but second half is disappointing. ...more

King Vijendra of Vajrapur is a conqueror whose ambition is to become powerful. On the other hand, King Vikrant of Simhasthal suddenly got all the responsibilities after the death of his father. When these two face each other in a battle, we as a reader get to see how two people with polar opposite minsets behave in a life-threatening situation like war.
The USP of Emperor of Saravat is it's war sequences. They are described with much convinction and in details that all the visuals ran through my eyes as I read them. There were not many heavy words or jargons. So the reading experience was really smooth. Author managed to portray the inner thought process of every character very well. It kept me binded to the story.
Although the narrative is fast-paced and there isn't unnecessary dragging, it felt to me that there's no end lesson for readers in all this. Even if the author intended one, it wasn't clearly reflected in the book. Nevertheless it was still an enjoyable book. I loved all the drama going on throughout war. ...more

You get everything from Invincika that you expect from a book of this genre.
Action-sequences, monologues from the hero, choosing good over bad, identity crisis: it has all the elements. Plus it is written in a simple language. Also the narration is very smooth. However a few illustrations here and there could have increased the impact. But overall the story is good. ...more

I am attracted to the psychopath stories like a moth attracted to the flame. And The Girl In The Glass Case checks all boxes for this genre. It didn't dissapoint at all. The thrill it offered to me as a reader subpars the movie/series watching experience.
It is indeed difficult to write review of such stories because one slip of a spoiler and the whole book might get ruined for the others. However I did manage to guess a few build ups (well experience). But the major reveal took me by surprise. ...more

When inmates discuss their personal life, we as a reader get the opportunity to see them as humans and it helps us understand why certain people choose the path of crime. Using a game to progress story makes sure that the plot has continuity. So narrative doesn't seem abrupt.
Story progresses a little slower because each inmate is talking about his life in detail. But I believe that was needed to establish their characters. ...more

Finally I finished the second part of The Empyrean Trilogy and absolutely cannot wait for the third book. Author created magic specially for us fantasy lovers.
Story starts from where the first book left off. Jordan is prepared for war but turns out Satan might not be the real enemy. Rest you should discover while reading the book.
I absolutely whole-heartedly love books that talk about more humane side of Satan. Somehow I believe he is the most misjudged character of mythology. I am not saying he isn't right but challenging old norms doesn't seem wrong either.
The pace of the narrative is really good. It kept me hooked till the end. Story flowed naturally with no complications or brain twisters. Definitely a good read for fantasy lovers. ...more

In this universe, they live on a planet called Mythos. The leader of planet, Mothergod, dies giving birth to five sons and one of them is supposed to be the heir to the throne. Read the book further to find out more about their fate and how it affects their planet.
This book is the first part of a series. So, as the name suggests, it's focus has been primarily on establishing the early years of five sons of Mothergod. Author has given each son a separate chapter to explain their strengths and motives. It helps us as a reader to get deeply involved in this universe. Language used is very simple and easy to understand despite being a science fiction genre. Narrative flows smoothly throughout the book.
However I must add that story draws huge inspiration from Norse and Greek mythology. So it might seem repetitive to those who watch or read comics based on these mythologises. I would recommend it to all action/mythology/science fiction lovers. ...more

That's how good it is! It is difficult to comprehend my love for this book in words. But I am still gonna try.
The Silent Patient focuses on two main characters, Alicia and Theo. Alicia is in a psychiatric care because apparently she killed her husband and hasn't spoken since. Theo is a psychotherapist. He is fascinated by Alicia's case and decides to help her.
This is a psychological thriller. So there's a lot of human behavior study. I was so fascinated by how author decoded characters via patterns and tried to find the root cause of problem by exploring the childhood days of leads. I am no psychiatrist but I agree to his theories and explanations. Theo's interaction with his doctor Ruth was the best moment of the book for me.
I have seen and read a lot of thrillers and I usually guess climax mid-story. But this time author completely tricked me. And it wasn't like something happened out of the blue. Ending made complete sense. Once I read it, I realized that all clues were right in front of me. I was just too invested in the narrative to look at anything other than what author wanted me to see.
Last 100 pages definitely tested my patience! I speed read them in like an hour and a half (flash who)
If you like thrillers, you will love this book for sure. If you don't like thrillers, this book might change your mind! ...more

He covers various topics related to this disease in different chapters. Each statement made by the author is supported by in-depth explanation and detailed explanation.
This book can be good start for anyone who wants to understand the basics of COVID like what is it, how it works, where it originated, what are myths around it, etc. It begins with basic ABCs and then builds up on it. However there are some fillers explaining impact of COVID. Everyone now is aware about how dangerous this virus is and what impact it had. A separate chapter showing in actual numbers (also in the book) is good. But saying every now and then that this virus is dangerous seems repetitive. There's a chapter explaning physiology of virus which could be little difficult to understand for people from non-medical background.
Arguments put forth by author in favour of avoiding meat are really compelling and gives us something to think about. However I am not sure about their scientific validity. ...more

Mythical creatures always intrigued me. Their stories, powers and especially their mysterious eyes fascinated me the most. That's why I was instantly attracted towards this book. Most literatures talk about creatures from one myth or section of society. But this one is like an encyclopedia covering beings from different cultures and various parts of the world.
The language is simple and easy to read. Research done to go into details of every being written in this book is commendable. Illustrations add stars to the whole narrative.

Some people are truly blessed and T J Klune is one of them. How he managed to pen down complex emotions with such ease is just beyond my understanding. He weaved simple moments into life lessons without making them preachy or forced.
This book deals with grief and loss in a beautiful heartwarming sweet way that tears naturally flowed through my eyes. It has simple language, free flowing narrative and one of the best character arc I have read so far. I took this journey with Wallace and it definitely changed my perspective in some ways.

It is beautiful book dealing with impacts of grief and loss at young age. We often look for strange ways to correct something instead of accepting our feelings. We fill try to that void with any possible hope that we could think of. And this has been perfectly conveyed through this story.
