so on with the review I really liked the this book after playing the game and with all the story plot holes that the game came with and head scratching moments that we where all left with this novel really answered one question I had, which was what really happened during the rebellion and why Salone Kelly was hated they touch on it in the game but not enough for me. in the game you can read the codex and get a brief understanding of the rebellion but not the specifics of what really took place and this book really answers that question.
and this book really clears it up granted it's longer than it needs to of been but it answered a lot of questions and I felt more connected to salone. so now when I talk to her in game I understand her hate towards the nexus and I honestly think she shouldn't of been exiled and should of been aloud to stay after all when you read the book you will find that she was only really doing her job and working with what she had at the time and situation but that's opinion other people who read this book might think differently and feel that she got what she deserved.
but overall i really liked and enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to other mass effect fans especially those that lost hope in mass effect after playing the game this book will work as a comfort answer some questions they might have and show that in some way bioware actually cared about the world they built and it gives me small hope for the future....more

And all the time the armies of the Dark Lord are massing. J.R.R. Tolkien's great work of imaginative fiction has been labeled both a heroic romance and a classic fantasy fiction. By turns comic and homely, epic and diabolic, the narrative moves through countless changes of scene and character in an imaginary world which is totally convincing in its detail.
Im happy to finally say that i have read finished the trilogy all i have left to read for middle earth are a few prequel novels revolving around Gondor. But alas i am at the end of this age and now stars the age men and im happy to leave it there and imagine that life eventually evolved into the modern world and all the magic left with the elves and wizards, the belrogs buried deep in the earths core and the orcs, halfings died out and the dwarfs left there mines behind, the ents never found there woman and died after till all that was left was men to carry on this storys of fantasy creatures and battles. It's a sad way of ending things but that's how I've always imagined what might have came next after the books. Going back to this book it was grand and epic, the only gripe i had with the story was how wordy it was towards the end i wanted more war then politics, more sam and frodo not walking simulator. I guess im just used to the fast pace of the movie, it was the slow pace which is why i gave 4 stars than 5 but apart from that it was an amazing end to an epic series!

now dont get me wrong i really loved and enjoyed this book the only downside is that there where points in the book where it felt more like a job to remember all the names and who they belonged to and all the different places the book took you (note - i still cant remember each elf they where the worst with none gender specific names which made it harder to understand) which was a huge undertaking but i pushed on through and found the book to be fantastic and morgoth was so powerful and made sauron look like a pussy compared to the power morgoth this is why in my mind morogth will forever be the true dark lord. and if sauron didn't have the one ring no one would give a sizzle about him and i really hope they make a movie out of this film so that i can see tons of balrogs on screen fighting men and elf now that would be a movie ...more

this book is absolutely fantastic it's my first time reading a star wars novel I've always been a huge fan of star wars but never read the books because i didn't know where to start but now because the cannon has been changed to a select few novels I have been able to focus on those story's and I decided to start with This book and boy can I tell you im glad I did this book Is just outstanding it tells the story of darth vader before the movies and you get to see im in action and get to see his battle with the darkside as his light side comes in at times. you also get to have more reason to hate the emperor more. this is just better than the movies could ever be but thats books vs movies for you and I highly recommend this book to any and all star wars lovers read this book and others in the new canon....more
i listened to this book and it was absolutely fantastic it was over all a 10 hour read and i was finished within 2 days and this book really gave me ai listened to this book and it was absolutely fantastic it was over all a 10 hour read and i was finished within 2 days and this book really gave me a good idea of the characters in rouge one (which was by the way best star wars movie i have ever watched) it gives you an idea of what they all went through before the beginning of the movie and why gin is so important to the empire and how they tricked him into helping them build the super weapon for the death star.
And when he finds out he quickly takes his wife and his young daughter and takes them far way from the empire to live in peace and as we find out in the movie that don't last long. one thing that i also loved about this book was how much detail it went into about the kyber crystals and how they are in some way alive with the force and are really powerful but shouldn't be but you find out in the book why they are and that really blew me away because of all of the star wars lore I've read I've never heard of kyber crystals spoken that way before and i was on cloud 9 full of star wars joy.
so you can tell if your a star wars fan reading this you can tell its a very fantastic book great for any and all star wars fan or just a common lover of sci-fi but us star wars lovers will enjoy it a lot more high recommend ...more

this book really pulls you in I'd say I was 60+ pages in and I just wanted to put it down quit university and go exploring the Amazon and even now when I've finished the book I still want to go exploring. also this book really shows how dangerous the Amazon really is like a knew it was very dangerous but this book gave me another perspective how some Indians are nice and want to be friends and learn from the white man and then there's other tribes who just want to kill and murder it's really scary
(spoiler warning don't carry on if you haven't finished the book)
still here OK so don't expect to read this book to finally find out what happend to Percy fawcet because you won't which didn't bother me it just added to my imagination to what really happened and I think that's what the writer was doing there is no definate answer to what happend so it's up to you to make up your mind to what you think happend from reading this book and because of all this i have to give this book 5/5 stars outstanding book great read...more

The Fellowship was scattered. Some were bracing hopelessly for war against the ancient evil of Sauron. Some were contending with the treachery of the The Fellowship was scattered. Some were bracing hopelessly for war against the ancient evil of Sauron. Some were contending with the treachery of the wizard Saruman. Only Frodo and Sam were left to take the accursed Ring of Power to be destroyed in Mordor–the dark Kingdom where Sauron was supreme. Their guide was Gollum, deceitful and lust-filled, slave to the corruption of the Ring.
What more can i add then what has already been said about lord of the rings or the two towers in this case they are both epics, the story goes on with frodo and sam on there way to mordor while being hunted by gollum and the rest of the fellowship on the hunt for merry and pippin. As you would expect extremely well written and just keeps you hooked into the story all the way to the end, honestly if you haven't read lord of the rings yet are you really living your best fantasy life? This is a series that should be on your top 100 reads before you die or you'll regret never knowing all the little details that where never in the movies/extended edition so this series is a must pick up.

I really liked this book I know a lot of people have a problem with Dan Brown and his books and I have read the reviews that people have put about this books and the others in this trilogy and I honestly don't think that he deserves the hate he gets. his books are fun and interesting and have me on the edge of my seat wanting to read more and more and this the first book in the trilogy is no difference the story has good science in it for the time it was wrote and i feel that i learnt something new about this old community of gentlemen the "Illuminati" a group of scientist that just want to share ideas and talk science in a time where they couldn't and it completely changed my mind to this once scary organisation thanks to the media. also the ride of learning the path of the enlightened it was all so fascinating that also went into favour of the story to keeping me on the edge of my seat and then the huge twist at the end obviously i dont believe in spoilers so i wont go into detail other that with most twists in story's i really didn't see it coming and was just shocked.
oh and before i end this review i just want to say going back to the beginning of this review they are huge mentions and jokes about Robert Langdons special Micky mouse watch that was given to him by his parents. now the joke is that he always mentions it and from reading the other books it is mentioned not a lot as people say but is spoke about but not at anytime when the watch came up did it throw me out of the story they always made me smile and emote to the character so i just want to say any body who wants to read these books and looked at the reviews first i say to you dont worry about it it wont throw you off of the main story. ...more

BUT
it wasn't till I started and got half way through where it got boring the first part of the book where you have the 3 main villains and where they started and why they hate the queens I found that interesting and would of been a great short story to give more reasoning to each of the villains then what i got in the show well for brother blood more so. but then they added the second half which pretty much followed on with the TV series season 2 and I don't know if it was because I watched the TV show first but it just got really boring because I knew what was going to happen so there was no surprise it felt like i was reading a script but i kept reading in hope that it might go somewhere else even somewhere little but sadly i never did.
BUT
as a book for someone who wants to get into the arrow TV series I completely think that they should read this book and then watch the show with that extra understanding. but as for someone whose watched the show read half way then stop as you'll feel like i did reading a script.
now I've been told that this book is not canon i dont know if thats true but i dont care because i loved the first half and have that more of a connection to the 3 villains and have more respect for brother blood/...more
