This book has so many inaccuracies about how hospitals run and how birthing units run and how training is and the unprofessionalism is off the charts. This book has so many inaccuracies about how hospitals run and how birthing units run and how training is and the unprofessionalism is off the charts. I tried to hang hoping the love story would become front and center but nope. DNF.
Examples- laboring patients aren’t admitted through the ED, that’s counterproductive. The go straight to L&D.
It’s rare to see “teams of doctors and midwives. That would only exist in a complication. Most vaginal births had one Doctor OR midwife and one nurse, and a tech or possibly a 2nd nurse. C-sections have 2 doctors or 1 doctor and a midwife with 1st assist training along with anesthesiology, 2 nurses and a surgical tech.
No one goes into training on the first day and takes a patient somewhere. That’s so ludicrous, I can’t even tell you. And double that for an experienced nurse doing her widwifery clinicals.
Widwifery Trainees aren’t employees. They’re there connected to the university their training is and most of the time have a professor on the floor and that’s who they report to.

It’s how you handle your life after that mistake that does. I love a story of redemption. And if not for that mistake that Tom made years ago, we wouldn’t have all of these wonderful connections and blended families.
Kristen Ashley is my favorite writer for a lot of reasons. Not the least of which she never stops growing as a writer. I’d love to see her write a beta male. A nice guy with back bones. Who has to step up when the alpha is down or away? The beta. Don’t get me wrong, I love an alpha male. But beta males need love and romance too.
I’d LOVE for KA to do a hospital series. That could be super interesting.
But I digress. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the characters. ...more
