I would have to rewind a number of times because I missed something. The female lead also rubbed me the wrong way a couple of times. I also guessed at the “killer� early on. Overall it was okay. The narrators were good. But to be honest, if I’d listened to this one first, I likely wouldn’t have listened to the other two. And I think this one was first published??? So this book is cute. More a romance with mystery than a mystery with romance. If you, know you know. I wasn’t in the mood for the former and thought So this book is cute. Too much was told and not showed. Because of that, even though there had been enough time to make love believable, not enough action/shown on paper to make me a believer. Never sure why the words love needed to be used instead of falling. I will say by the end of the book, I did believe. But the saying too early took some enjoyment away. This story took turns I didn’t expect which was a relief in some ways and a disappointment in others. This book was long enough I felt much was told to us that could have been shown, which also took away. It was a good story with a great narrator but maybe a different editor to flesh things out more. I think the story could have been better with more show and less told. I’m rounding up to 4 stars because it was better than the 3 star books I’ve read lately....more
