I loved the 1980s setting and how the story focuses on Nova's obsession/interest in space and her following of the Challenger mission. The author also does a great job showcasing the type of harmful language that was used to describe and diagnose autistic people as mentally retarded. There is also excellent foster care rep and a heartwarming sibling relationship story. Great on audio and perfect for fans of books like A day with no words. Relatable, emotional and sure to resonate with younger readers. I loved the dyslexia rep, the diverse characters and the cute illustrations. It's also a heartwarming story about female friendship.
