I love books with family dynamics and this story pulled it all together so well with its incredible character development. The characters are are perfectly balanced with love, hope, compassion, flaws, and they each work endlessly to pick themselves up and move through this world the best that they can. There are three intertwined stories that tell about the Holocaust, orphans at an orphanage and segregation/Japanese Internment Camp. All of the characters are easy to love and relatable. This book is classified as middle grade but I think it’s for all ages as it’s very inspiring and uplifting on so many levels....more
