I remember being intrigued by the summary and really interested in the plot and the ending. However, I felt confused by the conclusion. They must collaborate to uncover the culprit before anyone else is harmed and their club faces permanent banishment.
The story started to drag, and I found myself just needing to get to the end to find who done it. Honestly, with a title like this and a cover featuring blood splatter, I anticipated more than what I got more mystery, more excitement, and a clearer explanation of how they identified the culprit. ...more

This is my first book by Katee Robert. I wasn’t aware that it was part of a series when i got the arc , so I jumped in right in the middle. Even though I didn’t know the characters or the backstory, I found it quite easy to immerse myself in their world. However, I think I should go back and read the earlier books. I’m excited to see what happens next, so I’ll definitely be looking forward to the rest of the series....more

Honestly, I feel like the audio format didn't really capture the essence of the story. But the pacing of the narrative felt sluggish, which made it challenging for me to remain engaged and attentive. I was hoping to be fully absorbed in this grand romance, but I just didn't sense the chemistry between them or see why their love story was significant.
I might think about giving this one another shot when it comes out and try the Kindle version instead....more

The first time period is set in 2011, featuring a woman named Nicole Forbes. She lives in California with her husband and their 8-year-old daughter. One day, a young woman arrives, inquiring about someone named Ben Edwards, who was part of the biggest fictional band in the UK during the 1980s. Nicole declines to talk about it and soon panics when she realizes her daughter is missing.
The second time period takes place in London in 1986, where we primarily follow Cassie, a 16-year-old girl who is infatuated with the same fictional band and its lead singer, Ben Edwards. Cassie dreams of being with him, but her sister Nicole, who possesses a beautiful singing voice, catches Ben's attention, leading him to pursue her instead.
The book has its flaws some plot twists are as predictable. However, the author really captures the essence of the '80s, bringing it to life without getting lost in nostalgia. She transforms what could have been just another thriller into a more profound narrative about the lengths we'll go to keep our secrets safe and the consequences when those secrets start to take on a life of their own. The ending felt chaotic. It didn't come across as complete to me at all. ...more
