I have finally finished this series, which I started when the first book came out in 2016! Wow, what an entertaining series filled with betrayal, twists and turns and the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Reminiscent of Gossip Girl, Katharine McGee's series is such a guilty pleasure to sink my teeth in.
Highly recommended if you are looking for something indulgent, fun with a taste of glimmer....more

I liked this one very much because it deals with several issues that are pertinent in today's political climate. I enjoyed Darius's story very much, especially when he learns more about his culture and roots in Iran and the narrative is unique, which is somehow John Green-esque. It's either you like it or hate it. But in this case, I liked it fine.

Initial thoughts:
I fell in love with Mirage the moment I read the first line. I loved that Somaiya Daud infused folklore and mythology into a fantasy set in space.
With writing that could rival most of the best-selling authors today, Somaiya Daud proved to be an excellent storyteller with her evocative and atmospheric writing.
The forbidden romance is sizzling, sweet and all-consuming and I loved every bit of Amani and Idris's relationship.
Have I already mentioned that the writing is lush, emotive and spellbinding. I can't stop thinking about Mirage!
