I loved this book with all of my heart. It has been months since I read a book that truly gripped me as much as this one. Everything about it was just perfect. The protagonists with all their flaws, the idea behind it and the story itself. I think it would be wrong to classify this one as a psychological thriller since it is so much more: it is also a book about friendship, love, time and memories. And can we appreciate what an amazing writer Marisha Pessl is? I enjoyed her writing style so much!
I read this book in only two sittings, I could have read it in one, if there wouldn‘t be that one thing called life, lol.
Also, this book reminded me a bit of "We Were Liars" from E. Lockhart, which is one of my all time favorite books ever!
All I can say is that I fully recommend this book! Probably one of my favorite books of 2018 so far!...more

I feel blessed by Murakami‘s writing style. It was so god damn beautiful that it made me feel like dreaming about nature (if that makes any sense). I loved reading what happened to Tsukuru and his friends and reading about his self-growth throughout his life. It really felt like I was joining him on his journey to it.
The book itself leaves the reader a lot of room when it comes to interpretation. It had an open ending, which I can’t stop thinking about. I know for sure that this is a book I will not forget that easily.
This was the first book I read by him and it will definitely not be the last one. Fully recommend it! ...more

I loved how the author combined such important topics in a book and even though I‘m not Indian and not familiar with the traditions etc., I could still connect to Maya a lot!

It was not exactly what I expected but it was sooo much better than that! I loved the writing style, the world building and the story itself since it‘s nothing like what I have read before. The ending ripped my heart off though :( I hoped for another ending but that‘s how life is, you don‘t get what you want, lol.
