i flipped the last page thinking there was more not even realizing i'd reach the end, im heartbroken. but THANK YOU NORA FOR SPARING MY HEART WITH NO CLIFFHANGER my god i was genuinely terrified and though I'm DYING for book 3, i can survive the wait knowing it didn't have an ending like TRK did.
jean moreau, the love i have for this boy. i actually thought i'd get away reading this book without crying and then chapter 17 hit and i was SOBBING. the tears could not stop streaming down my face. that had me as an emotional wreck, i straight up had to stop reading because wow nora really was trying to hurt me there. just typing this out right now, im tearing up i feel like crying. i straight up went from cheering to laughing to feeling proud to shock to anger to devastation to relief and then finally heartbreak. i didnt know ONE CHAPTER could do that to a person??? that fr had to be the best scene in jean's series by far, i will not be forgetting it ever.

omg that was so so fun and addicting?! i literally could NOT stop reading except when i was forced to, every spare moment i had i would pick up this book and before i knew it, it was over. that so did not feel like 600 pages, or maybe im just completely obsessed but either way the hype did not lie here for me !!
i am so in love with this world and its characters. the lore was absolutely amazing and so interesting?? i love the magic system so much. and the pacing was perfect, there was not one moment i was bored. what really won me over the most though were the characters. i adore saeris, kingfisher and so many of the side characters were so well-written??? i love renfis, lorreth (and he was even introduced in the 2nd half yet hello im in love with him), and carrion (!!! MY FAV) so much, nothing better happen to them later in the series or ill be devastated. but seriously carrion especially?? from our first introduction of him i never wouldve expected to love him so much, he's definitely my favourite character rn...more
