And what a blasting journey it has been, all the time I spent with these bloody Aes Sedai, Rand, Perrin, Mat, and everyone else. All these wool-headed, stone-faced, rock-stubborn characters.
This last book was flaming intense, downright gripping. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and Sanderson did a bloody marvellous job at finishing the series—as expected.
I thank the light that I skipped The Slog of the books in the middle of the series, though! I bloody swear I could not have suffered through the wordiness of processing every single page of dialogue between those blasted fools!...more
I am getting the impression that this series is an homage to Bloom's 2 sigma problem since half of the plot seems to revolve around the main characterI am getting the impression that this series is an homage to Bloom's 2 sigma problem since half of the plot seems to revolve around the main character looking for the world expert in some magical sub-discipline and getting one-on-one tutoring from them until he has mastered the area.
This second book was also highly enjoyable, but I found the first one to be a notch better. ...more
