Frost was more focused on the two main characters and their relationship's evolution, as well as character development.
Ambrosia, on the other hand, was more action-packed and full of reveals that you as a reader might or might not expect, but it lacked the tension and intrigue Frost managed to evoke.
However, this doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it (as you can see from the rating), but rather that I would've loved if it were a little bit longer ...more

Half of the stories in this book didn't appeal to me, so my rating is based on the stories I did read. I might revisit this book at another time to explore the ones I missed.
These are the stories I enjoyed, and I'm interested in reading more works by their respective authors: The Importance of a Tidy Home, by Christopher Golden His Castle, by Alma Katsu Last Drinks at Bondi Beach, by Garth Nix The Ghost of Christmases Past, by Richard Kadrey...more

“Finders keepers, Rowan of Ingburn. So be mine. At least for tonight. Then I will beg yet again tomorrow. And the day after. And the day after.
Thoughts I never imagined this book would impact me as deeply as "At The End There Was You" did, but here I am. The author's beautiful writing evoked a myriad of emotions, and the fairytale retelling style only served to enhance those feelings. Wendy truly has a gift for writing and I think we are so lucky this woman decided to share her stories with us!
So much emotion packed into one short novella! It might sound like an exaggeration, but trust me, it's not. And if you don't believe me, I urge you to pick up this book and experience it for yourself.
Conclusion If you're up for an emotional journey, Wendy's books won't disappoint. They've never let me down, and I doubt they ever will.
“When you bury me like you buried the rest of your enemies, speak it. I want you to speak my name. His eyes dropped to her lips. “I want you to be the very last one to do so.

This book pleasantly surprised me, not only with the story itself, but also with the complex worldbuilding and dark conspiracies. The characters' nuanced reactions to the heroine were exactly what I was looking for—not completely enamored, but not hateful either. Whether things change by the end of the book remains to be seen in the next installment.
It might be time to get back into writing reviews, because I have quite a few thoughts about this one ...more
