This book pleasantly surprised me, not only with the story itself, but also with the complex worldbuilding and dark conspiracies. The characters' nuanced reactions to the heroine were exactly what I was looking for—not completely enamored, but not hateful either.
Whether things change by the end of the book remains to be seen in the next installment.

It might be time to get back into writing reviews, because I have quite a few thoughts about this one 🤭.
