I would also like to commend the finely crafted proses that maintained the quality of the descriptions which drove the intensity of the events. Moreover, I also loved how each character has their own distinct personality that resonated with their respective segments and none of it felt off like everyone was in touch with their traits and if a certain plot point arose, they did not act out from their personality.
Overall, I loved the book. Circe slayed literally and figuratively....more

I only see Elektra’s pov in the prologue and chapter 6. Then it was mostly Clytemnestra and Cassandra. They literally feel a pushover to plot because I don't see clear goals yet. Sure, Cassandra wants to be respected since she looks like she has a social anxiety disorder that makes her aloof, but then she's cursed on chapter 5 then no one believes her anymore. She's treated more of a side character than a main one.
Conversation between characters always felt so short and fleeting. They're always rushing and hesitant to express themselves which turns out in reality they've only exchanged a few phrases.
The only conversation and scene that was long I read so far was the backstory that the servant revealed to Clytemnestra regarding the family history from Tantalus to Agamemnon.
It's like I'm reading a slightly extended version of Edith Hamilton's Greek Mythology.
It's more of a documentary than a novel.
Oh and the worst part was how character dynamics and relationships were mostly "TELL" than "SHOW".
Update: it's been 22 chapters and I therefore conclude, the book should be named Clytemnestra rather than Elektra. Her character is much more developed than Elektra’s. Honestly though, I don't understand how she still idolizes her father despite already knowing how he murdered her sister. Elektra is just a whiny b*tch at this point ...more

At one moment I did wish Phaedra’s name could also be in the title because she also still played a huge part in the story. But gosh, both their demise kept rolling like a boulder. I know this was meant to empower women, but the story didn't really feel like that. Also I admired Phaedra's vigor but then it just washed away after being head over heels again for a guy.
Honestly, I just think there were a lot of missed opportunities for the story, given that it was already a retelling. The ending was also abrupt, and it felt straining to see pretty much all of them being so emotionally stupid ...more

I'm glad I didn't, however I was more drawn the Morgan's perspective than Clara's. Both were written well don't get me wrong, but I just think Morgan had a lot more to deal with regarding her internal conflicts. Also, I'm more compelled with her relationship arc with Jonah than Clara and Miller's.
Wait I guess I'm sugarcoating this, but I really hated Clara. It's just so irrational the way she comes up with a scheme.
ALSO WHY DID MORGAN NOT READ THE LETTERS??? I was so curious about it and I'm like, "I'm not part of your relationship problems so reading those letters won't affect me." But they deserved more of the truths even if they would hurt like hell. :((...more

I thought it would just be some of those shallow romances, but I was completely wrong. And I'm glad I was wrong. It look me a few days to finish this book because I literally stopped reading when the scenes became darkest. I needed to breathe and also process the fact how much I can relate to her especially with her family background. This book was like a peek of the future regarding a small choice amidst a whole lot of others. It was painfully realistic and I loved everything about it. ...more
