The reduced rating from previous Stine offerings is due to this. The story is much the same as in the original haunted Mask, qv.
The Enter Horrorland section didn't much advance the plot there. After number 5, which we have, the remainder will probably have to be tracked down. Any ideas? - bearing in mind I live in Fiji and do not have ready access to bookshops, online or otherwise. The lack of online choice boils down to the postage costs that are often prohibitory....more

Sean enjoyed the majority of this collection, which has quite a moral overtone to it. Good for the 7-10 age group, or thereabouts. It's been a long time since I was in that range....more

Have so far read three of five tales to Sean. What is trying my patience is the cutesy commentaries by Dumbledore. The tales themselves are reasonable enough.
At least I got this in a three for two deal.
Finished a night later than the above. Still found Dumbledore interludes tiresome. The stories were good and perhaps an edition with just them (possibly fully illustrated) would sell well and be less grating....more

I had met the author in the town bookshop in Knutsford when I was over in August this year. He very kindly dedicated the copy I purchased to Sean, who was a little mystified as to why that should be, but was pleased with the book.
We read it last week. There's plenty here to keep the attention and the illustrations are excellent.
Four toy friends set out to retrieve a brooch stolen by a raven and meet with many adventures along the way. If you crossed Alice in Wonderland with a little of Lear's nonsense and threw in some mythology to an adventure yarn, you would have a pretty good idea of this book. I'd recommend it for children's reading from age 7 to about 14....more
