And there would at least be four to five occasions when you would be convinced that you’ve second-guessed the author, but every single time you’d be proven wrong. It is nail-biting. I thank my student Rituparna, who suggested this book to me way back in November last year. But once again the initial word of caution I repeat: you just need to look past the politics and deal with the text as a plain actioner with some very robust female characters, who would manage to earn a lot of your admiration. Our anti-hero is on the lookout for a British passport. His Egyptian papers are obsolete. And regardless of having a British schooling his felonious past in Britain exasperates his probabilities of a British passport. He gets ensnared in a cat and mouse game, much out of accident.
