This is one of those books.
I was completely captivated from the first chapter. And I read it immediately again. I can't stop myself. And I don't think my review will ever fully justify how good this book is. (And this is just a fanfiction)
The story is somber, sad, dark and tragic. There were hardly any happy moments. The ending is bittersweet. I went in thinking it鈥檚 just a dark romance between the popular pairing of Hermione & Draco. Wasn鈥檛 prepared at all for the brutality, intense storyline and amazing characters. And I overlooked Hermione鈥檚 brilliance the first time when I read the book. She was so well-written.
The plot wasn鈥檛 written on a whim, the author carefully plotted out the details and crafted it on the foundation of the beloved series. I love the flashback chapters so much. And I felt as if I fought alongside the war together with Hermione. The war made Harry, Ron and the Order seem like idiots who dreamt of fighting for love and light. It made me reflect how I felt when I read the HP series.
Draco Malfoy. Assassin. Order spy. Pureblood heir. Muggle philosophy and history hobbyist. Death Eater General. He was a tortured soul, bent on revenge. He was complex, nearly impossible to understand at first. It took more than half the book to understand him. My heart hurts to read about his agony and the physical torture he went through. And he would burn down the entire world for Hermione. The blistering love he had for Hermione, his possessiveness, and the way he took care of her makes my heart ache so much. The dragon-hide boots, the hidden medical supplies, the set of knives dipped in manticore blood. And he moved back to the manor for her, which he hated so much.

It has been a thrilling journey entering the captivating and intriguing world of Prythian. I found myself still awake at 4am trying to finish the book.
Why I love this series: 猸愶笍 Feyre. She was audaciously brave, kind and strong. The help that the Suriel and bone carver gave her bore testament to all of that. Her wit, cunning and tenacity were fully exhibited in ACOWAR. The way she rescued Elain from Hybern's camp, found all the help she could to help Rhys win the war by facing her worst fears, and saving her sisters countless times.
猸愶笍 The meeting of the seven high lords and can I say I was beyond grateful to see all of them united. It was amazing to finally meet them especially Kallias and Viviane (their love was so precious). I was reading with bated breath because I was so afraid that one of them might betray Rhys.
猸愶笍 That final battle. It was exhilarating and gripping. I was honestly dreading to flip the page for fear of a death that i dreaded. I cheered wildly at the death of the fucking King of Hybern. I was deeply moved by what Cassian said to Nesta on that battlefield as he laid dying ...more

It made the first book seem like a kiddy ride, while this was the rollercoaster at the carnival.
Now I FINALLY understand the hype around Rhysand. Jesus Christ, this male. Damn it. I fell in love with him countless times throughout this entire book. I literally closed my eyes for minutes to visualize the scene when Feyre & Rhysand were at Starfall. My heart was thumping so hard when he explained everything that happened since he realized that Feyre was his mate. He did everything for a reason. He got her to read, trained with her, encouraged her, got her to steal the ring from the weaver (because his mother left it for his bride!!!) I fucking hate Amarantha and what she did to him, and my heart went out to him when he talked about the years under the mountain.
And the precious friendships at the Night Court was what made this book even more spectacular. It was truly like a entire new world beyond the first book and Prythian. The sacrifices Rhysand made for his friends and people were unbelievable. How can such a selfless man exist?! The devotion and loyalty Cassian, Amren, Mor and Az had for their High Lord were truly admirable too, and it was wonderful and heartwarming to read all about them....more

I'm bonded for life. Both Fourth Wing & Iron Flame hit me like a collision, setting my tears and emotions ablaze. This is my third time reading this series, and still a 5 star book personally for me. I'm too emotionally attached not to. I love Andarna and Tairn too much, and I'd rather die than choose either if the time comes.

I love Rebecca Yarros's books in general, and she is definitely a great author. I know it鈥檚 not a perfect book, but the plot and characters are thrilling and captivating. There is a good balance of romance and action, and hardly a dull moment for me. I miss our beloved charismatic wingleader, the loyal and grumpy Tairn, and baby Andarna. How can mere words bring such devastation? Saving & Redeeming 6 really cracked my heart over and over again. Seriously, Aoife Molloy. How can a girl like that exist? Her love knows no boundaries. I cried along with her every single time she had her heart broken.
The people whom I adore so much in this book - Aoife鈥檚 mam & dad, Podge, Alec, Casey and Gibsie. All of them played a part in making this story even more magical. And especially Joey鈥檚 great grand da. No words are adequate to describe how touching to hear how he described Joey, his favourite grandson the protector.
And Joey Lynch, the hurler, the addict, the wonderful boy. You have indeed risen from the ashes and you will be engraved like a tattoo over my heart for an eternity....more

Every time I re-read this book, I ended up crying so much with my eyes swollen the next morning. I have no idea how Chloe Walsh or others survived writing or reading this series. Joey Lynch is one character that has been embedded in my heart permanently. He deserves every single hug and every single version of HEA in the universe. And the same goes for Aoife Molloy, the brave girl with a heart of gold.
But this series is definitely not for everyone as it has countless TWs and detailed traumatic experiences. And it will change your life. Please proceed with caution....more

Several reasons why THIS book is one of my favourites. First, Grip writes poetry and music for god鈥檚 sake. How incredible is that?! And he loves Bristol with a love that was so fierce and consuming.
