I loved this book to pieces, although it scared the crap out of me. I'm over 40 and don't have any kids and now I realize anything can happen that could put me into a situation where I need end-of-life care.
It was beautifully written -- expertly balancing hard facts and anecdotes -- and I cried at the end. I hope that when my family (and eventually I) makes this journey, we can find doctors as compassionate as Dr. Gawande. ...more
