This book was so incredibly complex, I don’t even know what to say in a review to do it sum it all up. Bree is truly such a badass. I love her character so much - she is SMART, so clever & brave!
I obviously loved the continued dynamic with Nick & Sel.
One of my favorite things about this series is how the author mixes in social commentary in such a masterful way. She talks about her hair, systemic racism, gender dynamics, & even the man vs. bear dilemma. I seriously loved it.
The only reason it isn’t 5⭐️ for me is because it was verryyy long with some dragging in the middle for me. There is so much lore, multiple magic systems, & tons of characters to keep up with.

You’ll definitely want to read the first book in the series before this one because there are a lot of the same characters you know & love from book 1 :) For this book, I was CRAVING a “here’s a recap of book 1� at the beginning because this one really dove right into the story & I needed to go back to my old review to refresh my memory!
I loved the flashback elements through Frances� journals, which makes the story feel like navigating a cozy historical game of Clue! This one kept me guessing the whole book & it was super entertaining & surprising while also being an easy, cozy read!
