this is also my favorite quote and has helped me understand my marriage of 32 years
thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite passages in the book. it has been ages since I've read The Prophet and realize his messages are indelible :o)
I like that quote about marriage very much. In fact, the entire section on marriage is very lovely. But far and away my favourite is the one on children. That is very beautiful. Especially the end.
Is he saying share and commune in loving celebration of the 'music' human relations can make together but stay true to yourself and your own uniqueness?
When my Mom was alive I read this passage to her, and she was very touched by it
I understand him now, I too have said many times to my wife you can have as much as you want but please dont ask for the piece I am having...
